On your Sub-Zero 642 Your display will not work unless your refrigerator lights work. 1st. Make sure your light bulbs are good. 2nd. Check your refrigerator door light switch. 3rd. The subzero uses a thermal overload to kill your lights if the door is left open to long. http://www.on-timeappliance.com/subzero.html
It sounds like it may be the thermostat. turn it down to a normal level and give it a good tap to see if it starts. you may need to leave the door open so it warms up bit so it will start, it wont start if its cold as the thermostat would be satisfied. If it does start the thermostat should be replaced. I hope this helps

Heres how I would do a screen replacement,
You will need a small philips screwdriver for this ...
Remove the power and battery To Remove the bezel from the front of the screen There should be 4 or 6 screws holding the cover on, Screws may be covered by rubber buttons, then remove the screws holding the LCD to the hinges' frame. Tilt forward your LCD and lie screen on your keyboard
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LCD panels have a row of IC chips at the top that produce the images on your LCD so do not touch or flex this area because it may produce lines on the LCD or kill it completely. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
botom of screen is inverter power and plug to screen top rear of LCD is video feed from motherboard, (above that are those important IC Chips- DONT TOUCH THE CHIPS) LCD wiil have tape fastening plug to the socket, Remove tape and this will expose the plug. Un plug from screens socket, Reseat plug back into socket, Put Tape back on to stop any unwanted movements,
Next step is to power up the LCD to test.
Rest LCD in back of lid and lie lid on table with base at 90 degrees for access to plug in AC power. do not use battery for this test. Turn ON power, If it starts up, then you have a running machine again, Shut down , unplug power and reassemble,
If LCD does not start then you need to replace the LCD panel and thats about all you can do,
I know this is going to sound strange but I have something to check. If you have LED lights in your house turn them all off. When they are off turn on your TV and see if your TV stays on. Yes, there could be many problems but this one is cropping up quite a bit. If this does not work then you need to take a look at the power supply board.
How are the power and opc lights blinking?
Do they blink simultaneously or does one blink then the other?
How many time do they blink per second?
Also have you had it fixed yet? and if so what was done?
I had a similar problem with my set.
Hello. This is a thermo-related issue. It happens when some parts in your TV reach certain temperature and fail creating short so TV shuts down and goes into protection mode. In your TV the only thing that you can do is to replace Power Supply and hope it would help. Main board generally has nothing to do with temperature. Another probability - LCD panel itself (more likely back light inverter boards that are part of the panel, you can't order them separately). There is inexpensive way to determine if it is power supply or not. You have to purchase fast-cooling spray that technicians use for diagnostic purposes (you can buy one in electronics components store). You have remove TV rear cover so you have access to power supply board (the one where power cord goes). Turn on TV and let it run and eventually shut down. After that unplug it from wall outlet and use spray to cool down power supply board. Make sure you don't spray too much or you cooling anything else besides that board!. Let residue evaporate and plug TV back and try to turn it on. If it act OK and stays on for long time again - replace power supply and you should be OK. Otherwise it is time for new TV. Panel is too expensive to replace. Regards. Russ.
Ur Tuner signal board have problems or dead.Ur power LED light indicator stable for a few mins before the power LED light, and the OPC LED light indicators flashes? After the POWER light and OPC light indicators flashes, just push the power button again for the power recycles again.Probally have to pushes the power button 3 or 4 for power light and opc light indicators flashes, the LCD backlght will lght up and work.Sharp tv have this problems alot, very common in Sharp LCD tvs.
Hello, It may be the power is set wrong. Click start, control panel, power options. From here you can set the amount of time you want the monitor or hard drive/s to remain on until the shut down or go into hibernation. Hope this helps.
All you need to do is remove the back cover, then remove the metal cover that covered the power supply. Watch tv w/o cover, it won't shut down again. Try it and post here if it works.
