No beep please help me about it it has power but no beep i tried to clr cmos but still no beep

before replacing main board,try replacing individual hardwares like ram,processor and if still not working,try resetting the bios by alternating the jumper on the labelled CLR CMOS

There is a CLR CMOS jumper on that MB next to the SYS FAN 2 connector by the IDE header

open = no clr
jumped= Clear CMOS

From the manual page 32

Use this jumper to clear the CMOS values (e.g. date information and BIOS configurations) and

reset the CMOS values to factory defaults. To clear the CMOS values, place a jumper cap on the

two pins to temporarily short the two pins or use a metal object like a screwdriver to touch the two

pins for a few seconds.

• Always turn off your computer and unplug the power cord from the power outlet before

clearing the CMOS values.

• After clearing the CMOS values and before turning on your computer, be sure to remove

the jumper cap from the jumper. Failure to do so may cause damage to the motherboard.

• After system restart, go to BIOS Setup to load factory defaults (select Load Optimized

Defaults) or manually configure the BIOS settings (refer to Chapter 2, "BIOS Setup," for

BIOS configurations).

try resetting your PC's CMOS, the clear CMOS jumper is usually found near the CMOS battery. note that there shoul be no power or the power cables are unplugged.

Try resetting the bios by removing the power cord from the back of the machine and removing the battery for an hour periodically hitting the on/off button to dispel and residual power, then try again.

Just because it doesnt beep doesnt mean the vid is not gone

place board on a non metal surface hooked to
monitor
keyboard
mouse
powersupply UNPLUGGED RIGHT NOW
cpu with heatsink and fan attached
ram

plug power supply in (will not shock you just dont lick it ok)
if board does not come on take a small flat head screw driver look at where the power wire would slide on cross those two pins should come on. again will not shock you.

still no video try pci (most basic video mobos support) card
still no video could be cpu I have had several of these be bad caouse no video also
try anouther cpu same setup

looks to me you've got a faulty motherboard....but have you tried your memory,processor, and video card on another motherboard??? just to be sure....please try....

look for the CLRCMOS or CLR or JBAT1 terminals. These are the cmos settings and may need to be cleared, so refer to your motherboard manual for which one you have. Although what has probably happened is that when the PSU blew it may well have shorted the cmos chip which cannot be repaired, or damaged the graphics.

beeps on motherboard can mean 3 things: 1. memory out (or corupted) 2. vga card out (or corupted) 3. mother board is corupted try to take out the memory and the vga card and place them back on you can go and read you motherboard manual and look exactly what 3 beeps means..

One thing worth trying is taking out the cmos battery (only do this if you are confident you know what you are doing on a motherboard). leave the battery out for at least a couple of minutes and then reinstall the battery (ideally with a new one). restart and you may find you have cured the problem and that your old memory was fine. If this doesn't appear to help (definitely replace the battery even if you think it is fairly new)and jump the CLR CMOS pins. (ask again if you need help on this). second to try is see if you can update the bios drivers from the dell site onto a disk on another machine - use as a boot disk and see what you get. after that i would suspect the power pack, there is no real way to test this without connecting it to another motherboard and seeing if it is fine. alternative would be to just replace it with an equivalent unit, they are not too costly. After this i would suspect major motherboard or bios damage, which may be fixable but is usually cheaper to replace the whole board if you have inserted the wrong type(frequency/size/combination) of memory sets into the board it can often cause this sort of trouble, and often a CMOS clr and reset can solve the problem Please let me know if you need talking through the process - (it is not too complicated, but you can cause damage if you do not know what you are doing) Hope this helps :)
