SOURCE: How do I clean the inside glass on the door - GE Profile JVM1870

I have a Kenmore with similar issues.
Model 665.61639100
Anyway, good luck with this. Hope someone has an answer for you (and me).
Mine has a open slot on the top front of the door. Kinda like a double plate window execpt for the opening in front. Why is this there? I don't know. Weird design. But it leaves for the possibilty of liquid to splash in there leaving it hard to clean (like impossible).

I'm thinking I have to completely remove and disect the door.

SOURCE: GE JVM1660AB002 Microwave door handle

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You are correct. It has to come out. You should be able to use a knife or equivalent to pop off the inner panel to the microwave. It should just pop out and then you will be able to get the other screws.

I have a GE Microwave Model # JVM133OBW. The interior light went out. How do I replace it?

Typically you remove the vent cover just above the door that goes all the way across the top of the unit. There are 2 or 3 phillips screws in the front of it, or on top. You take out that plastic vent grill and look behind it. There is another screw in the center that holds down the panel the light bulb is held in. So, remove that screw and lift up on the panel holding the bulb. Make sure you unplug the Microwave before you take out the bulb. Sometimes the glass will seperate from the base and the wires inside will twist together and blow up your circuit bosrd. SO UNPLUG FIRST!!! On that top grill some have the screws on the Top of the unit, but you just have to find the screws that hold that top front grill in place. Some of the grills have to slide to the side a bit to come out. I am sorry I do not have exact instructions on YOUR machine. But it really is not that difficult. It could be a screw in type bulb or a small push in Halogen. Good Luck

Does not heat food

If the inside light, cooling fan, and turntable all come on when you press "Start" to cook, but it does not heat, then you have a defective high voltage section part (HV fuse, magnetron, etc.)

If the above 3 components do not all come on when you try to cook, then it\'s probably just a bad bottom door switch or mount.

My help file on door switches is here.

There
should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit
behind the
control panel which is
very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating
components.

mini_manual_behind_grille_small.jpgdee77f7.jpgAt
we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This additional disassembly information may apply:

Be sure the oven is unplugged.

There are two Phillips head screws on the very top of the outside of the cabinet above the vent.

When they\'re removed, slide the hood vent grille to the left about 1/4", then then pull it forward.

(There are three L-shaped clips that fit into a slot to hold bottom of the vent)

Then remove one screw (which holds the control panel in place) near the top of the control panel.

Once that screw is removed the panel tilts out so you can disconnect the wires and then slip it out.

Be sure to mark and/or photograph your wires so that each one gets back exactly where it was after the repair.

Reassembly is accomplished by sliding the L-shaped keepers in place, then sliding the vent grill to the right and pushing it into place.

You can find
helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full
model number from the tag on the oven
here.

Panel problem

Hello

Unplug the microwave from the wall outlet prior to disassembling.

Open the microwave door. Remove the screws securing the grill above the door opening to the microwave. Remove the grill.

Remove the screw located at the top of the control panel, which is now visible with the grill removed.

Lift the control panel up to release the tabs securing it in place. Move it away from the microwave.

Look at the rear of the control panel to any disconnected wires that may have caused the control panel to stop functioning. If wires are disconnected, reconnect them, reassemble the microwave and determine if the problem is still occurring. If the problem still occurs, replace the control panel.

Transfer the wires from the old control panel to the new control panel.

Move the panel back against the microwave's control panel housing. Slide it down to lock it into position.

Install the screw at the top of the control panel.

Replace the grill on the top of the microwave. Secure it using the screws that were removed.

Restore power to the microwave.

How to halogen light bulbson my microwave JVM3670Sk03 I have changed one I know there is another one how do i change it please advice thanks anna

That's covered on pages 35 & 36 of your owner's manual.

If for some reason you don't have yours, you can download it here.

Cooktop Light/Night Light

On models JVM1850, JNM1851, DVM1850 and
EMO4000, replace the burned-out bulb with a 120 volt,
40-watt incandescent bulb (WB36X10003), available
from your GE supplier.

On models JVM1870, JVM1871, JVM2050 and
JVM3670, replace the burned-out bulb with a 120 volt,
20-watt halogen bulb (WB36X10213), available from
your GE supplier.

To replace the bulb(s), first disconnect the
power at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel
or pull the plug.

Remove the screw at the left edge of the light
cover and push on the right edge of the cover
to open.

Be sure the bulb(s) to be replaced are cool
before removing. After breaking the adhesive
seal, remove the bulb by either gently turning
(for models JVM1850, JNM1851, DVM1850 and
EMO4000) or pulling straight out (for models
JVM1870, JVM1871, JVM2050 and JVM3670).

Replace with the same size and type bulb.

Raise the light shield and replace the screw.

Connect electrical power to the oven.

Oven Light

Replace the burned-out bulb with a 120 volt, 20-watt
halogen bulb (WB36X10213), available from your GE supplier.

To replace the oven light, first disconnect the
power at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel
or pull the plug.

Remove the top grille by taking out the screws
on top of the grille that hold it in place and
sliding the grille to the left (opening the door
makes grille removal easier).

Next, remove the light cover.

On some models, the light cover is located
in the center of the top opening. Remove the
screw that secures the light cover and lift the
cover off.

On some models, the light cover is located at the
left of the top opening. Lift the cover off.

Pinch the clips that hold the light socket in
place and lift the socket out.

Remove the bulb from the light socket by
pulling straight out. Replace with the same size
and type bulb, then replace the light socket and
cover.

Replace the grille and screws. Connect electrical
power to the oven.

My smh8165 microwave stopped working and the display says "SE" and is less then a year old

Unplug microwave. Remove (2) flat head machine screws on the top of the microwave holding in the top front trim. My trim slid left and gently pulling was removed. The control panel has (1) screw holding it in. Remove screw, slide up and gently pulling detach from microwave. There are (5) electrical disconnects which need to be disconnected. Do not force they should come easily. Lay control panel on and old towel. Squirt both the male and female connections(in microwave control panel opening) with electrical cleaner. Carefully clean up excess. Connect the (5) quick disconnects and carfully fit back in the control panel opening. Attach screw. Place top trim in and slide right to lock. Once it is in secure the top two screws. Clean area and plug back in. Hopefully your up and running. These pieces break real easy so don't force anything.

You can download owner's manuals and installation instructions for several brands (including Amana, Frigidaire, Jenn-Air, Kitchenaid, Litton, Maytag, Roper, Tappan, Thermador and Whirlpool) here.

Enter it as MMV1153WB0 (no dash, zero on the end, not "oh")

Or just get it here, to be more exact.
On page 4, it says:

"Installing/Replacing Filters and Light Bulbs
■ Grease filter: Grease filter is on the underside of microwave
oven. Clean monthly. Slide the filter away from the tab area,
and drop out the filter. To reinstall, place end of the filter into
the opening opposite the tab area, swing up the other end,
and slide it toward the tab area.
■ Charcoal filter: The charcoal filter is behind the vent grille at the
top front of the microwave oven. The charcoal filter cannot be
cleaned, and should be replaced about every 6 months.
Remove 2 screws on the vent grille, tilt the grille forward, lift it
out, and remove filter. To reinstall, place the filter into its slotted
area – wire mesh side up, replace vent grille, and secure with
screws.
■ Cooktop light(s): The cooktop light bulb(s) is(are) located on
the underside of the microwave oven, and is(are) replaceable.
Remove bulb cover screw, and open the bulb cover. Replace
bulb, close bulb cover, and secure with screw.
■ Cavity light: The cavity light bulb is located behind the vent
grille at the top front of the microwave oven, under the bulb
cover, and is replaceable. Remove 2 screws on the vent grille,
tilt the grille forward, and lift it out. Open bulb cover and
replace bulb. Close bulb cover, replace vent grille, and secure

HINT: Unplug the oven before removing or installing the bulbs, or you may need this service.
