I have the same problem....there are no connected devices!!! It will sometimes get to this screen, hold for a few seconds, and then reboot, getting the same error over and over until I shut it off.

I tried connecting usb cables and all other cables over and over to see if there was a short or bridged connector.

I fixed it: unplugged battery for 15 min, put back in, put in a WinXP SP3 cd, deleted all partitions and reinstalled windows completely...not an ideal solution, but at least an otherwise dead laptop has come back to life

The user has not described the operating system in use.
However this problem generally occurs due to incompartible hardware. in this case it is ever stated. ie. Network interface Device. I suggest you disconnect the Network devices including cables, then try to reboot.
If not descibe how far the booting process gets and type of network hardware connected and operating system to your system

And when you did that, did the system then work? If it did you may have a faulty WiFi card or an incompatible driver.

104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. system halted. remove device and restart

The problem is caused by a card that is either not built for the machine or is corrupt. This is not a driver issue as this message comes up in the POST (Power On Self Test) this is before any driver is loaded. The reason that this happens when a network card is replaced is because HP/Compaq laptops have a whitelist of allowed cards built into the bios. If the cards vendor and device id don't match one on the list they don't allow you to run it. This is simply so you have to line the pockets of HP spare parts for somthing 10 times more than what it is worth. The only solution is to flash your bios with a modified one to remove the white list. This is a very risky operation and could brick your machine. If your getting this error and have not changed your card the likely reason is corrupt card or the bios has somhow become corrupt. Good luck on this issue.
