After a reboot and install of Linux, first time the monitor came up with graphics it was ghosting (i.e. repeated patterns next to text or images). Rebooted back to WinXP and it's ghosting again. Tried different computers on different locations, still ghosting. Tried different power cable, to no avail. I suspect the data cable but it's attached to the monitor and cannot replace myself.
Ghosting is a memory problem, the monitor has a memory chip this helps with the video rendering to display the image, the chip can over time become damaged like any other memory chip, its its read use delete type but some times it can take longer to delete this then gives you the ghost shadow. it can sometimes be the software glitching, but there is no way to fix the firm wear on the monitor as the chip is pre programed before the monitor is assembled.

ontherhodes5, Your monitor will probably need servicing for one or both power supplys in the unit. Yes, If you can get a new oem Switch-mode-power-supply/inverter board you might get it working. I suspect that it (smps) can't supply the voltages needed by the logic-interface board- therefore no digital data can be processed for display on the screen, which should be white-bright but now only gray. (dim) because the 1000v ac from inverter circuit is also missing 10to40% of it's output. Your best bet will be to find out if Hundai can do a repair/swapout. You send yours+$40 to $90 and they send you a Refurbished same model with new CCF tubes, Inverter board, smps board. It seems that sooner or later these lcd ccf (cold cathode fluorescent tube backlights) will need servicing. Don't feel bad about this monitor. There are about, (guess only) 2500 more of all makes and models with similar power supply problems out there. To see whats inside a lcd search YOUTUBE for vids of servicing or repair of lcd screens or similar.. also www badcaps.net ??? or lcdrepair.us or visit electronicrepairguide.com run by a Jestine Yong. Ignore the sales pitch and just look fyi. hope this was of some help. drop me a note if possible. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ aol.com BYE
