If you still have warranty, take it back asp, they will have to repair or replace since this was manufacture defect, if that is not an option! Do a complete recovery on your operational system to factory setting.

SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite 5005-S504 3 USB Ports not functioning

I don't think a wire is the problem as they are soldered to mobo. It is more than likely a power problem. If you go to the hardware tab in device manager and go down to usb root hub>right click and properties then look at the power tab and you will see a 500MA allowance on usage. You can easily go above these if you are using them, so check that they are all active. Also go to control panel>admin tools>services and look down list for 'plug n play' and make sure it is set at automatic and 'universal plug and play' is set at manual

I would not start with new drivers. Try uninstalling the USB ports in the hard ware settings, then have the computer scan for new hardware, which should make it automatically find and reinstall the drivers for the device. Usually it will fix the problem if that is the extent of it. If that doesn't work, then get the drivers.

What is the port number of the RJ12 connection on a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop

You can find the port number by going into the control panel.

Find the device manager and look at the list of ports.

Your network adaptor may not be using a port, just memory to access it, in which case under the network device it will have a resource tab showing the memory location.

My two usb ports have moved towards inside of computer . i tried to disemble the computer without sucess. all srews battery, harddrive have been taken out. what else must i do to remove back cover

This issue requires intricate soldering, you need to send it to Toshiba for motherboard replacement. Most likely, the USB ports were pushed in too hard and the port broke off of its location. Even if you were able to access them, it is unlikely you could fix. However, this model is still fairly new, so send it to them and claim it came that way...

Usb ports on a toshiba satellite pro m15-S405

You can if you have good soldering skills. The welds are located on the opposite side of the motherboard. Just go to partstore.com or ebay to find a raw module to replace it. Otherwise you must replace the motherboard. Remember, heat the work not the solder, and use low watt if lots of smaller circuits are closeby.
