Startup Problem with my 42pf7321d/37 Phillips plasma TV
Every time I turn on my TV in the morning when the TV itself is cold, I see the LED Green ON (on the left bottom corner side), and I hear a relay click, and seconds later I hear sound (with no video) a second later I hear a click again on the relay, sound goes off, still no video, and the LED stays ON, nothing else happens then.
I try to turn the tv off but no relay click is heard, and LED is OFF. sometiems the TV does not respond any more but still I have to try to turn the LED off
to get it to work, I have to unplug the power cord for a couple of seconds.
when I plug the power cord again. I can hear the relay click again, the LED ON for seconds and then off again,
then I turn th TV ON relay click is heard LED ON and sonund begins, but the video takes like 1 or 2 minutes to come but in the process picture appears and desappears several times until it stabilizes, and TV wrks perfectly.
when the TV is warm I turn it off and on again the startup is normal; sound and video appears immediately as it should be always.
I took the cover out and I just clean dust the tV had, but all looks normal.
I know a liittle bit of electronics but not sure what to or how to check with my Voltmeter . Heelp!!!

Startup problem when cold. Turn on - loud relay click, moments later a quieter click. Have to unplug and plug several times then finally momentary sound and click again. One more unplug and it does the loud click and stays on. Each unplug and retry results in the same loud click followed shortly by quieter click. Then on/off produces no clicks. Have tried leaving unplugged overnight but same results. My gut tells me there is a replaceable relay that is causing the problem. My set is on table brackets with 6-8" open space to wall. My kingdom for a relay number and a place to get it!Startup problem when cold. Turn on - loud relay click, moments later a quieter click. The error that appears on the TV error report is 04 and the defective module that appears is I2C 4_blocked Protection +3Hz Blinking Watching ther table in the service manual reads:
Extra Info • Error 4 (I2C bus 4 blocked). When this error occurs, the TV will go to protection and the front LED will blink at 3 Hz. Now you can partially restart the TV via the SDM shortcut pins on the SSB. Depending on the software version it is possible that no further diagnose (error code read-out) is possible. With the knowledge that only errors 1, 2, 4, and 63 result in a 3 Hz blinking LED, the range of possible defects is limited.

Some more information... I recently changed entertainment centers. The one I had was closed in underneath and collected heat from the dish box being on 24/7 thanks to thier system. apperently it created enough heat to keep the tv above it "warm". When I changed to an open table for everything no heat is collected. At the same time the weather started turning colder. That is when my problem started. Today, just for grins, I tried positioning a space heater so it "warmed" the tv. Guess what!? It worked! The tv started up on the first try. I have also oberserved that the colder it is the more on/off trys it takes before the unit stays on. This is a fact! Now if I only knew what component is heat sensitive. The unit is a couple of years old at most. It was packed new in the box when I got it From Office Depot (not a demo that ran forever in the store). Some more information... I am now 99.9 % sure that the SSB is the board with problem, it should be replaced because it is almost impossible to repair itI am now 99.9 % sure that the SSB is the board with problem, it should be replaced because it is almost impossible to repair it

Ur power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
One of the PCB's inside has an incorrect voltage/short or dry joint, all TV now days have a diagnostic startup mode which checks all the boards, one of yours threw up a problem so the TV put itself into Protect Mode so that it doesn't do anymore damage.
Most likely it going to be a power supply related problem. The red blinking light is a code for a TV tech to diagnose the problem on the power supply board itself or the board that regulates the power for the screen. Some manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board. A TV repair shop should be able to look at it for you and tell you which board is bad.
Replacement boards can be found at a good price at Shopjimmy.com
It is pretty much a plug and play. It is more time consuming than any degree of difficulty.
You must make a strong mental note of where each screw goes.
Simply disconnect the Molex connectors and the screws on the Signal Board; you're pretty much reverse the process. No cutting or soldering is required!
That blink don't mean nothing. Measurements need to be made. Don't just buy the board troble shooting would need to be done to see witch board is bad. Also look on the fron of the set and see how many time the led flashes. That wher your error code comes from..
i am familiar with this power supply in philips models. this fault code on the psu refers to a fault within Vscan circuitry. you will be unable to check correct voltages as the set is in protection mode.
you can disconnect the Y-Sus board(to the left of the psu) and if the led stops flashing you can almost guarantee the Y-Sus pcb is faulty!
