I have tried every solution I know. Checked and changed zone codes to multizone code 255 with tray opened. Powered off player at player not remote, replace power tray closed disc loaded but still have the same error "wrong disc" are there any other solutions I can try??? Bonkers

    Exactly as above

    I put in the DVD

The lights blink as I see "Loading" in upper right hand corner (FOR QUITE A WHILE)

And then...that word goes away, replaced

    by WRONG DISC

Same prob, although with unit open...the motor will not engage and spin up the dvd. Wthout the spin-up the unit will most likely state "wrong disk?"

I have the same problem with my DP313 Norcent. I found though that it will play recorded dvds. It also will play older Dvds and some Anime ones. It will play older recorded mp3s but NOT newer ones, I'm not sure if it's because they are burned at a faster rate or what. Also it will not play any of the new dvds except as stated before some of the Anime ones. It pays to try everything out to ensure it not a mechanical problem. I found it's not with mine, but still unsure why it won't play new dvds?

I believe the "Caption Vision" is selected. By pressing the "Display" button on the remote it should toggle through the choices until "Display Off" appears. That should be all.

SHARP BD-HP16U Cannot Play

Try this....
You need to force the player to the the Top Menu of the disc.
The way to do this is: load disc, wait until it says "Reading Completed" (about 1 minute).

Wait for the PLAY icon ">" to show in the upper right corner (this may take up to 30-40 secs).

Once you see the ">" Hit the STOP button on the remote to get to the player's splash screen.

From the Sharp splash screen Hit the "Top Menu/Title List" button on the remote and wait for the circulating dots and then the disc menu appears.
Play the movie from the menu and you should be good to go.

Sungale dvd2026

I found a "hack' to make mine work :)
1. Open the tray
2. Press "Setup": Menu Screen should appear
3. Press "8-8-8-8" ( if you changed the password, you might have to change it back to 8888 ) The region number should appear on upper right corner. No other notation. Typically just the numeral "1".
4. Use the right (->) or left (<-) arrow keys to change the region to 255 for all regions.
5. Use the up or down button to go to 3001 and 4000. I had to change 4000 to 4001 to get mine to work,
6. Press "Setup" to exit.
It was a big relief to find this hack, because I misplaced my receipt and thought I was simply out of $30.
