Can not turn off email sent to blackjack via

I have a work related email that I can access on my blackjack via IMAP- which works fine. I manually receive these messages when I need to, I DO NOT want to receive these at the time they are sent. Besides, with my package it costs me money. However, my problem is with my ATT Worldnet personal email - it accepts every single email when it is sent to me - most are just spam or worthless. I DO NOT WANT to receive these - and my phone options will NOT allow me to repair this. I can manually fix or change these on my IMAP, but not on the ATT Worldnet, NOR can i delete it to try to fix it again. I took it into an ATT store, they can't repair it either.

PLEASE - this is COSTING ME MONEY.

If you want, you can try doing a hard reset, which will erase everything that's not on external storages. Here is the hard reset procedure:

1. Removing the battery without turning it off.
2. Reinstall the battery and turn the phone on with navigator key pressed down.
3. press any key to skip to prompt.
4. press yes to reset the phone.

Good luck.

Using my yahoo.com as a third party so I can sign into my Mail (Apple) and read my Gmail! One is a POP3 and one is IMAP. Can you explain this to me so I can fix my account?

Hi,

POP3 creates local copies of emails and deletes the originals from the server, the emails are tied to that specific machine, and cannot be accessed via any webmail or any separate client on other computers.

IMAP stores emails on a remote mail server, you'll have a limited mailbox size depending on the settings provided by the email service.

Depending on your personal style of communicating and whom you prefer to get your email service from, you can pretty quickly narrow down how you should use your email.
  • If you use check your email from a lot of devices, phones, or computers, set up your email clients to use IMAP.
  • If you use mostly webmail and want your phone or iPad to sync with your webmail, use IMAP, as well.
  • If you're using one email client on one dedicated machine (say, in your office), you might be fine with POP3.
  • If you have a huge history of email, you may want to use POP3 to keep from running out of space on the remote email server.
Compared to POP3, IMAP allows users to log into many different email clients or webmail interfaces and view the same emails, because the emails are kept on remote email servers until the user deletes them. In a world where we now check our email on web interfaces, email clients, and on mobile phones, IMAP has become extremely popular.

You can either create POP3 or IMAP for both Gmail and Yahoo

I want to know if there's a way / software to sync my Samsung SGH-i607 with my Gmail account.

Yes, the SGH-i607 can support an IMAP account, and Gmail can be accessed through IMAP. They don't list the SGH-i607 as a supported client, but it should be possible to configure it to work with Gmail.
First, go to your gmail account and enable IMAP:
Sign in to Gmail. Click the gear icon in the upper-right and select Gmail settings at the top of any Gmail page. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Select Enable IMAP. Click Save Changes.
Next, configure the SGH-i607:
While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Start Select Messaging Select New Account (3) Select Other (POP3/IMAP), using the navigation keys Press the right soft key for Next Enter your name & E-mail address, using the Qwerty keypad Press the right soft key for Next For User Name, enter your full email address (including @gmail.com), using the Qwerty keypad . For Password, enter your Gmail password. For Domain, enter gmail.com. Press the right soft key for Next. For Server Type, choose IMAP. For Account Name, enter your full email address (including @gmail.com). Press the right soft key for Next. For Incoming Server, enter imap.gmail.com and select "Require SSL connection". For Outgoing Server, enter smtp.gmail.com and select "Outgoing server requires authentication". Press the right soft key for Next. Select desired message settings, using the navigation keys. Press the right soft key for Next. Select desired configurations for Storage and Connection. Press the right soft key for Next. After you have determined how often the device will connect, press the right soft key for Next. Setup will now be complete. Pressing the right soft key for Finish will enter the newly-created account in the Messaging application.

Pop3 ;imap ;HTTP setting for incoming and outgoing mails in my pc for yahoo

The regular Yahoo! Mail accounts (US) do not provide access via the POP3, SMTP and IMAP email protocols. So you cannot access a Yahoo! Mail account with a standard email program (e.g., Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird), unless you take some additional steps.

Here are some options that can provide the type of access you are seeking:

(1) Yahoo! Plus - paid upgrade
Yahoo offers a paid upgrade for its email accounts. The "Yahoo! Plus" account provides POP3 and SMTP access; the cost is $20/year. For details see:
http://overview.mail.yahoo.com/enhancements/mailplus
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html
(BTW, I'm not sure that's a particularly good deal, but it is relatively simple to implement.)

There are also some free work-arounds which will allow email programs to access a regular Yahoo! Mail account.

(2) YPOPs! - free software
This program is a "POP3 gateway", which allows Yahoo Mail to be received and sent via any standard email program. You'll need to download the free program and install it; then configure both the Yahoo account settings in your email program and in YPOPs, so they will work together. For details and download, see:

http://ypopsemail.com/
For configuration guidance, see articles at:
http://ypopsemail.com/documentation/37-email-configuration

(3) WebMail - free Thunderbird extension
If you use Thunderbird as your email program, there is a free extension which will allow access to various webmail services (including Yahoo). You'll need to download and install both the basic WebMail extension and the Yahoo plug-in; then follow the instructions to configure them for your Yahoo account.

POP and SMTP Access service is active. Once configured, POP Access allows you to download, read, manage, and send your Net@ddress Messaging Center email on your computer, both online and offline, using your favorite email client.

IMAP and SMTP services are active. IMAP is a method of accessing your email messages that are kept on a mail server. Once configured, IMAP allows you to download, read, manage, and send your email Messaging Center email using your favorite email client while online or offline. Using an IMAP-compliant email client such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger, an IMAP user can access his/her email on the server from different locations, using both the IMAP client and the WebMail client. For example, when you read a message and store it in a special folder in your IMAP client while at work, you can access that message and folder while reading your email at home with the WebMail client or with another IMAP client without having to transfer messages or folders between computer stations.
