If the battery is completely charged but when you try to turn it on the light turns on then off there is a high chance your psp is what gamers call "bricked". The term is pretty much literal because when it becomes bricks thats exactly what it is, an expensive brick. If you have not tried to install custom firmware, or tried to hack it in any way then you can contact SONY PLAYSTATION from their website and for a fee of around 20$ usd or so they will repair it for you and send it back. You most likely bricked it from an update. Depending on your psp's model you can diy a solution or your stuck with sending into Sony.

Screen went blank
Hi, I experienced the same problem this morning, my sansa player (e280, 8Gb) froze in the middle of a song, the screen went blank but the wheel still had its blue light on and i didn't know how to fix it bur then i figured how. If that's the case with your player too, then the solution will be to press and hold the power button till the blue light goes off (abt 8-10sec) and then just restart the player. It should work.

Psp blank
you got a brick psp.

If your updating a psp, you should make sure that it will be able to finish it, if you stop while its still updating, you will have a brick unit.

if you psp is not using custom firmware (modified to play hack games) send it to sony as they can unbrick it.

if any of your friend has a pandora, they can actually have you fix it both CFW and original psp.

Psp turns on but there is a blank screen
it probably froze try and remove battery. if that dont work turn it on and wait a second then hold the power switch in the off position but do not let go until it turns off that should completey restart it.
