Charging my player charges for 1 minute then stops charging

I plug the Sansa in and it shows the connection and charging but after

about a minute, it stops charging, I've tried it on a few laptops and various USB ports but get the same behaviour. Other devices can charge on the USB ports I'm trying but not the Sansa. I'm thinking about exchanging it.

I am having the exact same problem. Did you ever figure it out?

I exchanged mine and I'm having the same problem again. I would recommend getting a different name brand.

I was having the same problem. In fact, I had exchanged my sansa for a second one and my problem was that my windows media player was a 9 version and when I upgraded to an 11 version all the sudden my sansa player was charging for more than a min. and it seems to be working ok. I think that once I upgraded my media player the computer recogonized the USB and with the older version it did not recogonize it. I don't know why. I just got my new player today and it's still charging so I don't know what it will do once it's fully charged but at least I can get it to charge for more than a min. I will keep you posted.

SOURCE: Sansa Clip 1G stops charging after a few minutes..

Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged first.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

I just bought a Jensen smpv-2gbub player. How do

How to charge the Jensen MP3 player - Model smpg-v2bub

Ignore instructions that came with it - they don't work.

Here's how to charge - I discovered this with mine:
1. When computer is on and at windows screen, attach cable from computer to mp3player with mp3 turned player off. It will immediately show you a connect screen on the mp3 player.

2. pressed the left side middle button twice - this will turn it on and go into music like you're playing a song.

3. Now turn the mp3 player on by switching the button on the right side of the device to the on position. It will suddenly show you it's charging - the battery on the front of the mp3 player will have a signal pulsing through it.

4. It will turn off after one minute. It's literally half charged now. Strange I know. Repeat from step 1 and it will fully charged.

If it doesn't fully charge after it turns itself off after 1 minute the 2nd time, then repeat steps from 1, one more time, but this time when it turns itself off after a minute, still leave it connected to the computer for 10 mins even though it looks like it's off. Then disconnect it physically from computer, turn it on with the on button on the right side, press the left side middle button twice and look at the battery on the screen - it should be fully charged now.

Sansa clip pc charging problem

I'm not sure exactly what the problem is but it sounds like it could be faulty or old battery, they can sometimes stop taking a charge. Are you sure it needs to be charged? some devices detect if they need to be charged and dont allow it to be charged if it is already full.
