KP 46WT 510. Replaced convergence IC's. Upgraded from STK 392-560 to STK 392-570. When I turn it on sound comes on, no picture then off in a few seconds and timer/stanby light flashes in sequence of four. Only problem before was convergence. Suggestions?

rechecked all connections. Inspected solder joints with 20X magnifier, resoldered two suspicious joints and cleaned up solder residue somebody else had left. It works! This kind of problem occurs due to failure of convergence output ICs in Sony KP-51HW40 tv. Replace convergence output ICs to solve tv problem.This set uses two of the STK-392-570 IC chips for this (convergence problem) Local tv repairman will do this job if you have no experience of electronics stuff repair.
Hi,that is come from your convergence module,theres some ic in there call stk wheres they controls the picture linearity but
you will need a technician to fix it...

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Blue wave coming up frpm the bottom of the screen on the lower left symptom is for busted convergence IC,you must replaced this IC in order that will works better again.STK 392-xxx ICs and it's associated resistor,this resistor automatically change value,can caused truoble even though you change the ICs.If you bring this to a service center they cost you $600 to $700,but if you buy the repair kit you can save more,don't wory it is very easy because there is intallation guide including in the repair kit. You must have checked fusible resistor?
check convergance control panel and check voltage supply to this board.If voltage are o.k than you have to change convergance control ic which is smd ic and its on the control board.

you will need to replace the stk ic's they are mounted to 2 large heat sinks in side the tv. the ic numbers are on the chips themselves. i do believe it is stk392-510 for sony. once you have the number you can buy these anywhere online. just put new ones in and should be good to go. if this doesnt work then there are a few resistors and fuses by the ic's that sometimes fail.
