The model number indicates a 50v500 Hitachi and HD for example is determined (size of picture on screen) by the cable box and in most cases cannot be adjusted.

Not all programs were made for wide screen TV's. This not a defect nor will stretching the top or sides fill the screen. Look on your remote to see if there's a button marked view mode or something similar. Use this button to make the picture bigger but you may not like the results. If the program you're viewing was shot in 4:3 aspect ratio then there will always be a black bar at the top and bottom of the screen
CHANGING THE SCREEN ASPECT RATIO: ( From Manual )
The TV can display images in four different modes: Wide, Zoom, Panoramic, and Normal. Each mode displays the picture differently. To change the screen aspect ratio:
1. Press the MENU button on the remote.
2. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight the Wide icon. Press OK.
3. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight your desired screen mode and press OK:
• Normal preserves the content's original aspect ratio. Since the 4:3 aspect ratio is not large enough to fill the TV's screen, black bars are added to the left and right of the display image.
• Wide stretches a 4:3 aspect ratio picture to the edges of the screen. Since the picture is being stretched, the display image may appear distorted. If the program is already formatted for widescreen viewing (1.85:1 or 2.35:1), then black bars will appear on the top and bottom of the display image.
• Zoom expands images with black bars to fit the screen.
• Panoramic expands the display image to fill the screen.

If you are watching widescreen (1.85:1 or 2.35:1) content, black bars will still appear on the top and bottom of the display image. This option is only available when the TV is displaying a 480i/480p source.
Refer the user manual to your TV and check how can you change the aspect ratio of picture. Changing aspect ratio will change the height of the picture.
yes it is a picture ratio issue . You need to look for the main menu tv setup button, its green on my lg remote . Once you select this you should have an option to change screen ratio to 16.2 or wide screen if your tv supports wide screen . Look for a little tv icon on screen and select that ,this should get you to pic set .
Vizio has a set of buttons on the left side where you can access your settings and change the aspect ratio of your TV. Though why you want it changed is beyond me. Wide screen is for 16:9 aspect ratios. At 4:3 (Standard) you won't be using your full TV picture.
Sounds like the zoom or the wide-screen ratio may have changed. The remote probably has a button (or two) related to the feature. Otherwise, you can usually reset this in the Menu (somewhere in the video properties). It may take going through a few settings for the best one for a given video source. (Letterbox, 16:9, 4:3 are typical settings to look for.)
The aspect ratio on your DVD player is not set correctly. Look for a SETUP button on the remote control, there should be something like "QUICK SETUP" or something similar on the setup menu, if not then go to the menu that has the aspect ratio settings listed. Change your aspect ratio to 16:9 WIDESCREEN, and this should solve your problem. Your aspect ratio is 4:3 which is for a regular TV, if the images (especially people) look real skinny and tall on your TV then your aspect ratio is not properly set. Good luck to you!
When you bought the carb, did you buy the same one or did you get a bigger one? You can always get some bigger jets than the ones it came with. Also wondering if your screen in your gas tank is plugged. How much fuel is getting to carb? I would empty out gas, take out the screens and make sure pitcock is wide open. Also you can always adjust air/fuel ratio screw on carb which may help a little.
