I just ordered the new cd for my 1315 pc printer and copier and scanner
do you think it will work on my windows vista it shoud be in the mail any time now its done been 7 days now i havent got it yet [email protected]

Dont know of any reason why it should not work. But sure would like to know why you ordered a CD for that printer when you can do a googles search and a trillion sites come up that you can download anything. Most of them from HP themselfs.

You can scan with out any HP software also using the below steps.
Make sure that the printer is connected to the computer perform the following steps;
Steps for scanning in Windows XP:
1. Click the Start (Windows) icon. 2. Click All Programs. 3. Click Accessories. 4. Click Paint. 5. Click File and then click From Scanner or Camera. 6. Click Scan.
Steps for scanning in Windows vista:
1.Click the Start (Windows) icon. 2. Click All Programs. 3. Click Windows Photo Gallery. 4. Click File and then click Import From Scanner or Camera. 5. Click Import. 6. Click Scan.
The Scanner software should have an option to choose image or text, image and text etc.. Look for that first.
Do a scan but before you do and run through the process as you normally would.
Put the printer/scanner CD in the carriage cancel auto-start. My HP different type but... does not always see/grab ALL of the scanner files on an install. Sometimes however, it will go looking for the files it needs and grab them off of the CD when it actually NEEDS them. When you try to actually to the scan. Otherwise the printer probably works perfectly right.
If you want to check it out just for the sake of it. Look in Windows explorer - control panel and see if there is actually a scanner listed or just a printer? Good luck!
go to www.support.hp.com ... choose your country then enter 1315 in the product selection under step 2 ... choose your product from the list ... click software and driver downloads ... choose vista (not vista 64) ... then choose your package .... go to step three on the next page and click the download only button .... download and run the installer ... when the installer is finished click the "succesfully installed button" then plug in the USB cable from the printer ... make sure the printer is powered up
i have a Vista system and an old hp 1315. the CD driver that came with it includes some very useful software that cannot be installed in my laptop. according to the hp website, that's because Vista comes with a compatible software for my hardware. checking Windows Help & Support gave me this solution:
Open to Windows Photo Gallery, click File then click Import from Camera or Scanner.
