My computer cannot detect my canon SD 750 camera when i try to download my pictures

I have had my camera for about a year. I installed the software, and have not had a single problem until today. I wanted to download some pictures that i had taken over the weekend and when i plugged the usb cable into it (like i always do) the zoom browser/eos utility screen did not pop up asking me if i wanted to downlaod the pictures. I manually opened the zoom browser, clicked on camera settings and then connect to camera and it gave me a service message that said "cannot detect camera" why all of a sudden can it not detect? I thought it might have been a faulty cable, so i bought a new one. it says the same thing. can someone help me please!!!!!!

I just experienced the same problem with my camera. For some reason it is not connecting with my computer. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I just experienced this problem and went round in circles for a few hours before stumbling on the solution. My camera, a Sony Cybershot, has 4 USB Connect modes in the Setup menu: PictBridge, PTP, Mass Storage, and Auto. The only mode that would work to bring up the Camera Wizard screen on an XP computer was PTP. Once I changed the setting from Auto to PTP, the camera was recognized and able to connect to the computer. Somehow this setting had got changed to Auto or Mass Storage and that evidently causes a problem such that XP does not recognize the camera.

I discovered a workaround for this problem...I pulled the memory card and inserted it directly into my laptop, which happened to have this type of port. It allows me to pull directly off the card. I still cannot connect via a cable, but this at least lets me get pictures loaded to my computer.

The other suggestion I was just given was to invest in a memory card reader. They're evidently not that expensive and should be able to plug into your computer. Hope that helps!

How do I recover pictures back to my power shot sd card

If your computer has a built in card reader you can put any photo back on the card from your computer by dragging and dropping the file to the drive letter that is your SD card. If you're trying to recover lost photos from a SD card Google "card recovery pro". It's a free program that will read your SD card and restore as many photo's as it can.

Canon powershot sd 1000, memory card not detected

Hi,

Please try to copy all the contents of your SD card to your computer. Then format the SD card and try it again on your camera.

If it still can't be detected, try another SD card.

I accidently deleted a picture. How to recover it back. It is a Canon IXUS 870 IS camera. It uses a SD card.

You can connect camera's memory card to computer, then download this picture recovery program which is outstanding among all picture recovery software.

Cannot download images to computer

Install the disc while the camera is not connected. After restarting your computer, turn the camera on and plug it into the USB port. The camera mode has to be set on playback ( the little triangle). If it is set on the little camera icon, the computer will not detect the camera. Then the computer detects the new hardware and you can choose the proper action.

Computer does not detect Canon Ixus 60

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
