I have a go video DV2140 that is only a couple months old and suddenly is started playing DVDs in black and white. I've tried different DVDs and they are all black and white now. The TV itself is color for regular TV and everything else but DVDs that used to be color on it now only play in black and white. I've checked the connections and everything is right there. We were watching a movie and it started out fine but about 10 min in it turned black and white and we haven't been able to get it to turn back. Nothing in the Manuel that I see about this so I don't know what to do. Did it break?

Bring it back to the place of purchase since the item is under warranty, this is a manufacture defect and you are in your perfect right to have a replacement.

Generally, the main causes of the problem are included in the following aspects.
1. The incorrect TV and DVD broadcast formats.
2. Incorrect cabling.
3. The backlight of the TV screen is abnormal or broken.
4. Objective factors, like whether and connection signal.

Some inputs on tvs won't process the color signal. Try one of the other inputs. Mine does the same. If u have already used the working ones on something else, U will need a switch to select one or the other available at Radio Shack if u can find one.
Initially, pls check if your portable DVD has an NTSC/PAL selector switch, option or feature. If yes, try selecting the other. Should this not be corrective, pls post the exact brand, model and your general location/region.

Try use connect your dvd player with just RCA(composite video) and see if you get regular color picture.If so,you need to go to the system menu to check the video output and see if it is under R Pr Pb-component video setting?If not,be sure to change it to component video setting AND use component video cable to connect to your TV unless your TV don't have this connection.
