Door leak I have a small leak between the bottom of the dishwasher door the lower service panel on the dishwashere. I did replace the seal on the inside bottom of the door along with the other parts that come with the door seal. Could there be a gasket leak around the detergent dispenser or the vent at the top of the inside of the door. I did not check the water lever as was mentioned in a previous question on water level, but the float does move up and down quite freely. Any suggestions as to where this leak may be coming from and how I can go through a process of elimination with this problem?

One (or possibly both) of your door seals needsreplacing. It's more likely to be the lower door seal as these usually go first. This seal isn't visible like the goalpost seal that runs around the sides and top of the wash compartment. If you open the door, you can feel this rubber seal when you run your fingers along the bottom of the door on the inside. Be careful though, as there is often a build up of dirt down there!

I don't advise buying any parts until you are certain of where the leak is coming from. Identifying the source of the leak (and therefore which seal to replace) is relatively easy but the best way is to run a wash cycle with the front panel of the door removed. It's quite easy to remove, but you might need a T20 T-Star screwdriver to remove it. Sorry, I can't remember exactly what the fixings are on this model.

A simpler - but not always accurate method - is to check by look and feel. If the water seems to be coming from the sides of the door panel at the bottom when you run a wash cycle, it's the "goalpost" seal that needs replacing. These are easy to obtain and replace - they simply push into a slot.

To test the bottom door seal, run any wash cycle and, when it's finished, stand to the side of the washer and open the door. There is a white plastic panel under the door. Have a feel around on top of this. If it's wet you probably need a new lower door seal. These are much harder to replace as it involves removing the door panel and partially releasing the hinges. I don't recommend this as a DIY fix unless you are competent, confident and have good instructions - i.e a service manual!

Whichever seal you need, they cost around $30 / £20 each.

Thanks for using FixYa. If you have nuisance water leaks around the base of your dishwasher, you may be using a detergent that is causing too much suds. Cut back on the amount of detergent you use, and see if that makes a difference.

Water that spills through the door vent is usually caused by improperly loading dishes. Leaks from the door itself may be caused by a faulty door gasket or door tightness adjustment. you should check the main tub seal, the door latch, the door gasket, the water-inlet valve, and the fill and drain hoses.

Also make sure the dishwasher is sitting level (you can adjust the front feet up or down, and many units have some type of levelers at the rear).

Water under the dishwasher may be originating from a leaky hose or loose hose connection. Remove the lower front panel, and check the hoses.

An older dishwasher may corrode at the bottom, but this is fairly uncommon. If this is the case with your dishwasher, it's time for a new one.

I just found a service release number for my Frigidaire dishwasher that says it applies to Serial numbers TH632 through serial number TH737 made in 2007 for a replacement kit for the door seal at the bottom of the door. The bottom door seal has been changed, adding side seals that restrict the water surge from the center spray arm. The part number for the new seal is p/n 154588201. This seal can be replaced without removing the dishwasher or either of the door panels.
The seal is located on the bottom of the inner door panel and appears as a cream colored flexible
rubber blade bonded to a milky white colored plastic strip. To remove and properly install
replacement follow the instructions carefully.
1. Replacing this seal can be accomplished without disconnecting power from the unit.
Always use extra care when electrical power is present while serving an appliance.
2. Open door all the way down and remove lower rack. Set rack aside to a safe location.
3. Locate the seal on the bottom of inner door panel. Facing front of unit, the right side of the
seal can be pulled down slightly to facilitate removal.
4. Pull seal straight into the tub from right side.
5. With seal removed, and before installing replacement seal, locate the channel in inner door
panel that the seal mounts into. Locating this channel before installing the replacement can
make this procedure easier.

6. Place the new seal on a flat surface and measure from the bottom of the seal, (See Figure
1 to determine bottom of seal), up 3/8 "of an inch and place a mark with a pen or marker on
both ends (See Figure 2). If needed, scribe a straight line between these two marks this
will give you a guide when installing seal into the inner door panel.
7. The seal can only be installed one way. The end that holds this seal into the inner door
panel has a ½ inch notch cut in the right side. This notch allows the seal to be installed
around the end of the inner door channel that holds the seal.
8. Line up the seal along the bottom of the inner door panel and start from the right side, push
the seal into the door channel to the line marked in step #6.
9. With seal in place close the door, the tub will align the seal as needed.
10. Reinstall lower rack and operate unit to check for leaks.
If leaks continue to occur at the bottom corners, order Splash shield kit 154701001 for
dishwasher.

Before installing the kit remove and reinstall the lower door seal. To install the lower seal make
sure you measure up from the bottom of the seal 3/8 of an inch and mark the seal, do this on
both ends. This locates how far down the seal needs to be before closing the door. Do not
install this seal without measuring it first. After the lower door seal has been re-installed then
install the splash shields according to the instructions accompanying with the kit.
