Hi
Could someone please help me my Sony Bravia tv keeps switching itself on and off every minute or so, had trouble with my cable services had to reboot it since then the tv has gone haywire. I have checked in my manual and it said to check the timer was not activated which it wasn't ,it doesn't even stay on that long for me to check any of the settings. Although it goes off the green light still stays on.
Hope someone out there can help me solve it.
Kind Regards
Mary
I had the same problem with my Bravia KDL 32D, mine seems to be agravated by the external aerial socket. I unplugged the aerial and problem has not reoccured (not much use if you want to use freeview)
Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary. .

I had the same problem, seems to have something to do with the external aerial socket. I unplugged the aerial and had no more trouble (only a solution if you don't use freeview)

Hello,
Unfortunately, this is a failure of the balancer board for the backlight. The unfortunate part is that the balancer is not available by itself anymore, and the whole panel must be replaced, as Sony only has the balancers attached to new panels. You can contact Sony directly to ask for assistance, and it usually helps.
Hope this helps you...

Sounds Lamp is weak in this TV.
Please replace lamp and procedure is written in TV user manual.

Sounds like you cant have set up the scart cables properly. Im unimpressed with BT for not setting it up for you, why didn't they?
Plus you will not need the freeview box if you have BT Vision, so i would take out the freeview box and just connect one end of the Scart lead into the back of the BT Vison box then put the other side of the lead to the Back of the TVs scart socket. Then all you need to do now if change the channel to AV1 OR AV2 or whatever channel you have.

Most likely this is caused by a defective main board. Changing the main board will fix the issue about 95% of the time.
To be absolutely sure, the voltages need to be checked on the power supply. If they are not the values listed in the service manual, then you should replace the power supply instead (accounts for the other 5% of the time).
