Yep, shuts off automatically after about 2 days. What is bushnell doing (if anything) about this issue?

This camera eats the batteries. I have had the same problem. I would suggest buying rechargeable batteries and keeping them fresh. It will work fine with a new set of batteries. The 30 day battery life is a lie. More like a couple days if that. I use this for paranormal research and since I don't need it in a field or trail, I have a conversion from D cell to 110 volt below.

BE-4AA adapter, four AA to D size shell adapters along with a 110VAC to 12VDC adapter . This will give you 4 D size cells and an output voltage of 6VDC @ 500mA, from a 110VAC source.

But if this in on a game trail, there will not be a use for the 110 volt. Bushnell needs to review this camera alittle better and fix it's energy drain.

Sanyo vpc-s1213 12 megapixel, 3x optical zoom lens stuck out, won't turn on

Mine did the same thing after I put in a new sd card. Finally after trying everything else, took out the sd card and it worked.

My camera switches off immediately after swithching on, it just shows a low battery sign and goes off. On the contrary if I select the discharging option from the camera settings menu the same batteries...

These cameras use both SD and XD cards. The SD cards are the cause of the draining. Switch to an XD card or remove your SD card while not in use and your batteries will not drain. :)

Camera works with standard SD memory card, but not SDHC

There are hardware incompatibilities between SD and SDHC cards. They're upward compatible in that SDHC devices will accept SD cards but not the other way around. You will have to hunt down SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Lines on LCD display, file error, lens not opening all the way.

Sounds like 2 things, unformatted SD card and carbon based alkaline batteries. If using SD card, you MUST FORMAT the card upon first use and then occasionally there after. This model camera cannot use an SD card bigger than 1GB, so make sure you aren't using a 2GB or higher. Also, make sure you stay away from alkaline batteries, you will waste your money. Try using Energizer Lithium or Duracell Power Pix, you will get your moneys worth.

Shuts itself off but lens won't retract

Have you initialized the SD card? Go to the set-up menu and initialize the card. Also check for a timed-shut-off option.
