Need threading diagram for hobbylock 786 surger

Pfaff has the manual for the Hobbylock 796 on their site, http://www.pfaff.com/Support-and-Updates/Support . Use the drop-down menu to find the Hobbylock. The hobbylocks all thread in much the same fashion.  There is a diagram for a four thread hobbylock on this website.  It would be better if you found a Pfaff dealer to show you as it is quite complicated.

Once you have it threaded, always cut the old threads at the spool and knot new ones on and pull through.  You will have to thread the needles as the knots will not pass through but it does save an awful lot of frustration when needing new colours on the spools.

The hobbylock 786 is quite complicated to thread without visual help. Try and find a Pfaff dealer and take it in to them. They should be able to show you and help you though it.

Here is the trick: If you look at your thread spools, left to right, thread machine beginning with thread from spool 3, then 4, then 1, then 2.

Thread 4 is tricky. You must line up the purple line on the big wheel on the right end in order to do this. Thread the machine according to the diagram on the inside, then, making sure you lined up the purple line, push the lever at the bottom of the machine (below threading guides) to the left while holding on to the thread end. This will push the thread up and along the horizontal arm you just threaded.

The top hex screw I think holds the bushing that allows it to slide freely. Keep that loose. If you open the panel where the lightbulb lives and spin the wheel, you will see a small flathead screw come into sight near the top of the rotation, through a small round window in the case. Tightening this screw a bit should keep the needleshaft moving with the wheel. Unfortunately I am still trying to find out how to position it so that it's properly timed.

This book is more helpful since it has detailed info pics in color- 182 pgs, @$3.00. Lists parts, projects, etc. The 786 manual has errors, 35 pgs. not detailed as the book above. Good luck!
