Last week I had purchased this machine however I cannot get 1 single eatable bread. I am following the recipe in the booklet to the latter! I just want to make some fresh homemade soft white bread!

I tried to make the French loaf, used program 9 and the result looked more like a stone then bread! Can someone help me?

I am returning mine as I cannot get a decent loaf of bread from this machine. I used to have another brand of machine that eventually died from so much use...wish I could remember what brand it was. I never once had any issues with my other machine.

I can't get a single bread to work. I have tried my own recipes, as well as friends recipes who were all trying to helo me out, nome have worked. I have checked and rechecked all of my ingredients like yeast (bought 2 jars so far) and 3 kinds of flour....nothing seems to work.

The bread lovers bread machine cookbook by Beth Hensperger is a great alternative to the recipes that come with the unit. I have had great luck with all the recipes from this book unlike the ones provided.

Here's a good basic white bread recipe that works great with a BD2550 (and usually doesn't even **** the mixing blade off of the bottom of the machine)

1 cup warm (not hot) water
1/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 tablespoons butter/margarine
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon yeast

Heat the water and add the milk to it. Dissolve the sugar and salt into this mix and pour the liquid into the bottom of the bread maker bucket (make sure the mixing blade is already in). Melt and add the butter to this mix. Add the 4 cups of flour directly on top, but do not mix it in. The flour will float on top of the liquid. Make a small dimple in the top of the flour in the middle with your finger and add the yeast into that little crater (at no point while adding ingredients do you let the yeast touch the liquid). Set the bread maker for basic setting 1, light crust, 2lb loaf and let it do it's thing. 3 hours later, you'll have a nice loaf of white bread with good consistency and density, and it usually leaves the mixing blade in the bucket (rather than having to dig it out of the loaf after).

Hope this helps!

I had a Black and Decker B 1600 Model Bread Machine for 14 years and made the seven grain bread (from the recipe book that came with the machine) in it at least twice a week. I also had very good results...

Hi, A bread machine made 14 years ago was of very high quality. Black & Decker does not make bread machines anymore, but buys them in a foreign country and slaps the Black & Decker name on it. The program may be different, the heating element may have changed, and possibly the paddle size and time of kneading and cycle times could have have changed. You will have to experiment some more ( I know you have, and it's expensive and frustrating) to change settings to try and make it work for you. Talk to your friends who may have a bread machine and try it on theirs, or give me the recipe and I'll try it on my Sunbeam...that would be interesting. Hank

My bread maker is flashing HHH

That probably means your breadmaker is too hot from the last loaf. Breadmachines always need to cool down for about 1/2 before the next loaf is baked.

I have a Black & Decker B2200 bread maker on which the spindle has dropped out of the bottom of the bread pan. It looks as if O ring is missing between the spindle and the collar it passes through....

I just bought a new b2250 machine from Zellers for $59 dollars, they also have the b2000 for the same price. It's not worth your time to mess around trying to fix these things.

I would like to know if there are more recipes for my machine than the ones in the manual

If you can tell me how to set the "dough only" for the b2250 Bread machine, I can advise you to just google.com for bread maker recipes.
Hope you can help me too...

No user manual for a black and decker programmable bread maker

I had great success in finding what I wanted for my breadmaker at http://breadmakerpartsemporium.ioffer.com/. They have manuals and parts for most breadmakers at very reasonable prices.
