What is the multi region unlock code

SEE THIS .GOD BLESS YOU
Manufacturers of DVDs and DVD players install codes that only allow us to play DVDs that are manufactured for our region. (For example, the U.S. and Canada are region 1, while China is region 6.) To make your DVD player region-free, you'll need to find the unlock codes that will allow it to play DVDs from all over the world. Below are some steps to help make your DVD player region-free.

"wrong region" on dvd player

According to the Wikipedia, "DVD region codes are a DRM technique designed to allow motion picture studios to control aspects of a release, including content, release date, and price, according to the region. DVD video discs may be encoded with a region code restricting the area of the world in which they can be played.

The DVD Copy Control Association in California, USA, requires that DVD player manufacturers incorporate the Regional Playback Control (RPC) system - according to the Australian government's anti-monopoly watchdog, the ACCC. It is therefore this US Association that is responsible for the RPC system that effectively divides the world into six regions for the purposes of controlling and manipulating distribution within the global DVD market.

There are six different official regions and two informal variations. DVD discs may use one code, a combination of codes (Multi-Region), most codes (Region 0) or every code/no codes (Region All). The commercial DVD player specification requires that a player to be sold in a given place not play discs encoded for a different region; however, region-free DVD players are also commercially available. In addition, many DVD players can be modified to be region-free, allowing playback of all discs."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code

A brand new DVD player allows you to play DVDs from different regions only five times, locking to the last region watched after these five times. So, you might have used your five region-change permissions and your DVD player is now locked to a different one from that of the DVD you want to watch (even thou you might have watched normally before).

There are some softwares like "DVD Region+CSS Free" from dvdidle.com or "CloneDVD 2" from Slysoft.com that allow you to back up your DVDs without the annoying region code. There are also sites like www.rpc1.org and www.dvdexploder.com that provide firmware or remote control codes to unlock the region of your DVD player.

Hope this information helps you understand why your DVD player is behaving like that and how to bypass that pitfall.

Is there a code to change a Thomson TV DVD combo to multi region - Model L26D?

In a word....NO.

Only DVD's themselves can be multi-region (region code 0).

I always advise on this site that you NEVER change the region code on your DVD player! Here is why....

To prevent DVD copy piracy, every DVD player from EVERY manufacturer allows (if it is allowed at all) only TWO changes to the region code. A third attempt to change the region code permanently locks the player and turns it into a paperweight.

If you happen to be the rare exception to the rule.... that you have moved to a new place that requires you to change the region code to view locally purchased DVD's, then by all means change it ONCE to be able to use your DVD player. Please remember that you can only change it one more time after that though! You will unfortunately not be able to watch DVD's that are from your old region.

Remote

this is from your producer: Product Description ? BASIC OPERATION OK ? everyone knows what a handheld remote control unit does for your home electronics. You can control your basic four (4) components: TV, DVD player, VHS player, Cable or Satellite tuner. Setup is simple for these basic 4? put in the batteries, look up the manufacturer of your component (Mitsubishi TV) and note the possible 3-digit ?program codes?? turn on the component, press the remote control?s PROGRAM button until the light stays red, press the component button (i.e., TV), enter in the ?program code?, and press the ?power off button? ? if the component (i.e., TV) turns off: you are programmed! If the component (i.e., TV) doesn?t turn off, then repeat the sequence using another of the manufacturer?s program codes until it does. Easy ? took me about 3 minutes to program my old Zenith TV (in the bedroom), my SONY DVD player, and my Mitsubishi S-VHS player. No problems at all. HOWEVER, in case you do run into a component for which the ?program codes? don?t work? you can go through a sequence to self-identify the coding. While I won?t go into it here, it is only slightly more time consuming than the other method. As my codes worked fine, I can not address this aspect, so I won?t make a claim we didn?t test.
