I have a dvi to hdmi cable to view my laptop/pc image on my tv. The tv has 6 inputs (inputs 1-4 and hdmi on the back and the fifth on at the front)
all the input names show up on screen when i want to select between them except for the hdmi one...am i missing something?
Find Product Owner Instruction Manuals Some TV's auto sense a signal present and switch the HDMI automatically. You can find out for sure with the manual for your TV from this site

If you have a 2006 or later model, you must set up Blue Ray DVD to Auto Mode on their output setting.

You are Just trusting on Monster Cable, thats what your doing wrong. HDMI and DVI are not same formates.

No sir, there is not such switch in menu to change input from S video to HDMI or something. Here is one suggestion, Use 3 RCA pins cable (Audio L/R & Video) to connect both unit and check/ remember TV input and same should be selected in TV menu.

Okey,
Connect the hdmi, into the HDMI 1. that is automatically input one. Connect the 2nd device on Input 2, thats next to input 1 and hdmi, leave the input 1 empty, as the hdmi is connected to that.
3rd device into input 3
4th device into input 4.

Try disconnecting the hdmI cable and the dvr box.
Connect the cable directly to the cable input.
Sometimes the dvr boxes will cause this problem
after you connect the hdmi cable.
