I have a Lexmark X5470 that will not work with my PC with Windows 7...It worked OK with XP. What can I do?

a Windows 7 driver was never developed/released for the x5470 however the company did produce a Vista driver which they certified as Windows 7 compliant.

You can download the driver here-
http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=en&segment=DOWNLOAD&startover=y&userlocale=EN_UK&question=X5470&productCode=LEXMARK_X5470&page=answers&detectedProductFacet=CMS-CATEGORY_REF.LEXMARK.PRODUCTS.ALLINONE.LEXMARK_X5470&searchid=1280592543355#2

if you already installed the XP driver on your Windows 7 machine you will need to uninstall it with the following procedure-

uninstall instructions for Windows

Step Action
1 Disconnect the USB Cable (where applicable)

2
Locate the Start / Programs / Lexmark XXXX Series / Tools / Uninstall Lexmark XXXX Series shortcut. Image
3 To start the uninstallation procedure click on the Yes button. Image
4 Please be patient and let the operation complete. Image
5 As indicated on the last screen, restart the computer by clicking Ok.

Have a new computer with windows 7 - the lexmark X5470 printer I have was hooked to my old computer with CD Windows 98 Op - how do I reprogram to new computer

There is no specific software required for the printer to work in Windows 7. When you plug it in Windows should find the driver in it's own driver data base and the printer should function. Below is a link to a Microsoft video explaining how to manually add the printer.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Install-a-printer

Alternately you can download and install the Vista drivers as recommend by Lexmark for Windows 7 use.
