I use to have the same problem with my Lexmark printer. Maybe you should check to see if the ink became clogged. Just hold the ink cartridge over boiling water for about 4 minutes or so. Also are you sure the contacts and those things are not damaged?

I think the resetter you have downloaded is for resetting waste ink counter, not for ink level. For resetting ink level counter (that reach zero) use hardware resetter or use use chip with autoreset function. Ink level reach zero is ink out, after resetting ink level reach 100% (full). But it's just program, not actually.
