have you consulted customer service on this?
It sounds to me like it might be a drm issue, where drm is a form of licensing that stop you playing files without the license. If it is that kind of problem Sansa should recognise it straight away and then you'll know what to do.
in the meantime you could try doing a reset as per the instructions that came with the player or go to the website and download the manual.
What I would recommend you to do is to format the device...Keep in mind that formatting the device will delete everything you have in that device....if that doesnt work...go to the sandisk website and download a firmware upgrade for your device...I am sure that will take care of the problem you are having... Thank you Computerrep
Well To Get It To Power Off You Just Hold Down The Power Button For Like 15 seconds. That Does The Trick.
But As For The Unknown Artist Bit...I Dont Have A Clue!
Sounds like there is a problem with the MP3 not your computer or what you are using. It could have been a song you downloaded that was corrupted. It is probably your motherboard that is going on the fritz. Look on the website to find someone who can fix your motherboard.
