This motherboard has 4 expansion slots and these are -
1. PCI Conventional bus add-in card connector
2. PCI Conventional bus add-in card connector
3. PCI Express x1 connector (this is a short connector)
4. PCI Express x16 connector (this is a long connector)
Use this information and ask the supplier for suitable video cards.
You need to also tell them what video applications you are using eg. games that require high end video cards. These video games also recommend types of video cards suitable for these games.

SOURCE: I need help choosing a video card.

Hi there.
Any PCI Express card will do as long as its DDR2, DDR3 is not supported by your motherboard.
You have a choice between ATI or Nvidia graphics cards and your system should support up to 1GB of graphics memory.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Hi there.
Your motherboard will support both kinds of Video card.
PCI is quite old and is only supported up to 128MB of video memory.
PCI Express is new technology and is by far the best card that you can buy giving you the best graphics experience and can support up to 1GB of graphics memory making it good for gaming.

What graphics cards is best suited in my ecs 945gct-m2 v. 1.3 motherboard

That really depends on several things.

1. What is your power supply make & model? How many watts does it put out? What size power supply is recommended for the video card I want?

2. How big is your case? Do you have a lot of add-on cards already in the case? Will the ram slots get in the way of your PCI Express x16 slot?

3. How good id your cooling system inside your case? Does it have enough fans?

4. What slots can you use for graphics cards?

In your case you have :
1 x PCI Express x16 slot
1 x PCI Express x1 slot
2 x PCI slots

You can get a great deal on a graphics card from here when you determine what the answers are to those questions:

I want some information about Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT 1GB DDR 2

If you are using Dual Core the mother board you are using may have PCI Express Slot. So that you may install Graphics card. Only for particular lower end mother board doesn't have this feature. Any way tell me your motherboard make and model no. e.g., Intel DG31PR, 945GNT, DG41TY etc.,

Re:

Hi dellyster, you have two options. You can buy and install either a PCI graphics card or an PCI Express 1x graphics card. The PCI Express 1x graphics card will run a bit faster than the standard PCI slot. Click this link for a look at some PCI Express 1x graphics cards:
http://www.nextag.com/pci-express-x1-graphics-card/shop-html

For a look at some PCI graphics cards try this link:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=319&name=PCI-Video-Cards&

If you do not have the manual for the Intel D915GVWB motherboard, you can download it directly from Intel at this link:
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D915GVWB/index.htm

Please read page 18, PCI and PCI Express Auto Configuration.

Good luck dellyster!

Tv card & Capture that support intel motherboard dg31pr

The Intel DG31PR motherboard has one PCI-Express x16 slot & two PCI slots. The motherboard also has 1 PCI-Express x1 slot.
You can use any of these slots. I am guessing you are using the PCI-Express x16 as you're primary video display. If you're not using the PCI-Express x16 slot & using the onboard graphics you could use anyone of these PCI-Express x1 capture cards.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=3493&name=PCI-Express-Video-Capture-Cards

For the PCI slot (Two whit in color). Any one of these.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=1425&name=PCI-Video-Capture-Devices

Video capture devices include a learning curve. Do not expect to add one of these into you're system without reading the instructions. (I know little of this format). The PCI-E x1 will be faster than the PCI cards.
I hope you found this helpful!

Good Luck!
Mike
