Nikon cool pix lens error

Fault in the system controller, failure of the auto lens mechanism, I would suggest that you must take help if the following tip does not work.
Remove battery and keep aside. Tap gently on the lens with the palm, replace battery and repeat this to switch on.
Try this out several times to see if a locked mechanism releases.
Hope this works

Lens error

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Lens error message on nikon coolpix L18 I purchased my Nikon L18 Cool Pix camera last September ('08). Last week when I turned it on, the lens extended fully, then retracted fully as I got a "lens error"...

Hi,
When system control does not get lens initialize signal while extending it, then it try again by folding it and extending and still no required initialize signal then generate error and stop further functions.

Please remove battery and open camera and remove flexible wire of lens mechanism from connector, there would be lock that needs to release to remove flexible wire. Clean wire terminals with alcohol, let it dry and put back flexible wire in connector and lock it. Now put battery and power camera up, hopefully lens will work properly.

Thanks.

Camera lens stuck

Look at some of my posts today.
This may be that the lens is off track and may be able to be pushed back by a little force as you start the camera....see my other posts on this problem.

Remove the battery, wait a couple of minutes, replace battery. (assuming the battery is fully charged. Check there is nothing jammed in the mech. if it still stays stuck.
