SOURCE: No sound from Sub Pre-out on Onkyo TX-SR606

Also, it could possibly the preout terminal itself that is not working. One way to prove that is by transferring the subwoofer cable from the preout and temporarily transfer it to the tape out section. If it ouputs sound from there, then that means the speaker and the cables are working fine and it's just the preout terminal itself that is not picking up anything. ^_^

SOURCE: need codes for universal electronics remote that will oporate tx-sr606receiver

I have the same problem and from what I've read elsewhere there is not a cheap and easy solution. From what I gather, simple remotes (like what you get w/ your set top box) that use manufacturer's codes for programming treat "on" and "off" as a simple toggle. That means they fire out a singal signal which is supposed to simply change the state of the device from off to on or vice versa. The Onkyo apparently uses different signals for on and off. Because of this we will need to get a "learning remote" which can be programmed to provide a separate signal for any desired function. These tend to be much more expensive which is why they don't just give them out with your set top box. Right now I'm still fiddling with separate remotes until I break down and drop the bucks for the special remote.

SOURCE: My Onkyo tx-sr606 7.1 receiver turns off by itself

I had this problem, and it was one of the speakers. I disconnected the right rear speaker and now it works fine. I asked a guy at Visions how to solve it so I can hook my speaker back up and he said that banana plugs prevent wires from crossing and sending a backwards signal (causing the receiver to turn itself off). Hope that helps!

How do I get sound from my Panasonic SA-AK110 CD stereo system to my Onkyo TX-SR606

Hi Jay Gibson, to be able to send audio from your Panasonic SA-AK110 to the Onkyo TX-SR606, you must use the Panasonic headphone output Connecting a cable with a 3.5 mm stereo mini plug at one end and two RCA at the other
The miniplug to the headphone output, you connect the miniplug and the two RCAs to the Onkio CD input
I suggest you have the volume of the Panasonic at an average level or less, so as not to saturate the Onkio's input
I hope you can hear it
Greetings Franco Dosil

I cannot get video signal from my Samsung p1590 Blu Ray player via HDMI to pass through my Onkyo TX-SR606 AV Receiver. I get video if I connect Blu Ray player directly to TV, and have tried all HDMI ports...

I think this one is for the Onkyo wizards:

I would write them via email here:

http://www.onkyousa.com/feedback_form.cfm

1-800-229-1687
However I did find this 2 page hookup manual with nice notes at link listed below that may help you solve the mystery:

(seems you may have to assign the digital input)

http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/QuickHookup/TX-SR606_QSS_En_A.pdf?CFID=918117&CFTOKEN=40624545&jsessionid=f0306ea8a0d68bb60a49102e3e5510576756

Assigning the Digital Input
If there’s no sound, you’ll need to assign the digital inputs as
necessary using the setup menus on the TX-SR606’s display.
If you connect your DVD player to the AV receiver’s COAXIAL 1
DIGITAL IN, and your cable/satellite receiver to the COAXIAL 2
DIGITAL IN, as shown, it’s not necessary to assign the digital input.
The onscreen setup menus appear only on a TV that is
connected to the HDMI OUT. If your TV is connected to the composite video or S-Video MONITOR OUT, or the
COMPONENT VIDEO OUT, use the TX-SR606’s display when changing settings.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Ipod Dock connection

The Red, green, blue from this adaptor cable
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB128LL/B?fnode=MTY1NDA0OQ&mco=MjE4ODM1NQ

go into any of the RGB inputs on the Onkyo

The R/W go into the corresponding inputs for audio, Red and White.

One thing to note,

IF you are running one source RGB like you want to do,
you may have to monitor output the video of the amp RGB to the TV, most of these amps do not like to mix HDMI with anything else.

So If you have one HDMI going out to the TV, this solution will not work. You should look at the manual for the Onkyo regarding what paths can pass at the same time. There is usually a small disclaimer in the HDMI section.

Hope that solves your question.
