SOURCE: I keep getting an error message- unable to clean
I have a DCP-340CW that is experiencing the same 'unable to print' problem. Any suggestions before I hit it with a hammer??
SOURCE: MFC-5840CN "unable to clean" and "machine code 50"
you have to fix the encoder strip into right position within the ph carrier! do push the head left/right to see if there are waves infront of it. if so, fix the strip into position!
BTW:
If you refill your carts use 2ml glycerol (from drugstore) with 10ml dye-ink: mix well before refilling. For bk use 1,5ml glycerol with 20ml bk dye-ink.
The glycerol prefents the ph/nozzels and tubesystem from drying up!
SOURCE: Printer Head needs removal to clean dried ink
Not a cleanable type head, filiment gets burnt, when ink is not around it when printing is done. Ie dodgy ink blocks lines or has air in it and has permanently stuffed the print head, fix on brothers is replace head, cost excessive.,..time for the bin and the newfound wisdom that inks aint just inks.
Ink empy or no inks is read in ink well compartment via a black flag in ink cartridge that must be up and floating as not to obstuct photocell in well area.. check the rectangler bump in rear middle of cartridge. All cartridges must have flags up ie not empty, seeing ink does not indicate a cartridge with ink, a little is always left to prevent air entering system, hence machine calling out no innk cartridge to prevent damage...
SOURCE: unable to clean
unable to clean mean the waste ink counter need to be reset.. and the porous pad need to be replaced.. to reset ... press the Menu & Mono start keys then next press the up arrow key 4
times to make the machine enter the maintenance mode. Once in, enter 8

mono start key several times untill the purge count appears on the LCD.
Then enter 2 7 8 & 3 by using the up arrow key & set keys to reset
the purge count to zero. Last press the stop/exit key to return to
the initial stage of the maintanance mode.
To exit enter 9 twice by
using the up arrow & set key's to exit from maintenance mode.
