Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.
2 Open the Dell Printer Solution Center on the computer. Click "Start," located in the bottom left corner of your computer. Select "Programs" from the menu displayed. Click "Dell printers." Click "Dell AIO Printer A920" and then click "Dell Printer Solution Center" to open the Dell Printer Solution Center.
3 Click on the "Maintenance" tab and select the option that says, "Clean to fix horizontal streaks."
4 Click "Print." This will print a nozzle print page, which forces ink through all of the nozzles to clean and unclog them.
5 Print a regular document again to see if the print quality has improved. Repeat the cycle up to two more times to improve printing quality.
is a printer error, check for paper jams, and end of paper, or scanner jamed,
try reinstall printer software, may resolve these error, and reboot computer
I have this same problem, except with the Dell AIO A920 Printer. It started when I experienced a paper jam and tried canceling the print order in the queue. I've tried every possible way to try and bring the printer out of this comatose state it's in, and nothing doing. I'm about ready to get a new printer. I guess this is what you get with a cheap printer Dell threw in free with a larger order.
there could be a small paper jam or then theres a problem with the pickup but try this solution first in making sure theres no jam:
Turn off the printer.
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by
holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the
paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling
out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do
this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any
obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or
ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the
printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.Bud
are you using only that size paper when printing. if there's another size underneath, then you're going to see some slippage. got fresh printer drivers?
Well yes you do beacuse dell does not repair it so incase you have the warranty you can get it replaced by calling the tech. support or else take it to a local shop and they might fix it.
