A2 CHECK THE GENERATOR OUTPUT
Carry out the Generator On-Vehicle Load Test and No Load Test. Refer to Component Tests in this section.
Did the generator pass the component tests?
Yes
GO to A3 .
No
INSTALL a new generator. REFER to Section 414-02 . TEST the system for normal operation
Probable cause is low battery voltage, maybe the battery was not fresh or was of too low quality. For such a nice clock, extra cost in getting an Energizer Ultimate Lithium or VARTA Professional Lithium cell is justified and the AA sized battery with 3000 mAh will work for many years. The Pix-55 has a simple CR-2032 coin battery. But the battery contacts are pin-point spot welded to positive and negative faces instead of being easily replaceable as they should be. I carefully broke the battery loose and soldered the leads from a single CR-2032 coin battery holder I got off Ebay, The green electronics board is marked +&- so easy to get the leads right. Before I started, mine didn't work at all and after the new battery it works great. What a shame many of these are probably thrown away because of a $2.50 battery. The next time mine goes bad I can easily replace it.
Hello There are two possibilities for this fault. The first one is with its battery itself. If the battery did not hold current, in otherwords, it has weak, proper charge both in volts and amperes won't hold on it, and when the device draw current from it while it works, voltage drop will occur, and low voltage indication will be displayed. The second chance is due to the charger circuit inside the radio. If charger circuit do not give proper voltage and current to battery, the battery won't charge to its full capacity. Check it by replacing it with a new battery [batteries] first. If it helps you it's OK. If not, your radio need service, and its charger circuit must be checked well. OK.
The clock resets because the car battery voltage/current is so low that when the starter motor is turned the + 12 drops to less than 8 volts and so the CLOCK resets.
Please have the battery checked, check the starter motor , battery terminals must be tight.
The manual for one of their clocks says the clock will change the second hand to two-second intervals to conserve energy when the battery voltage gets low. Perhaps your battery is VERY low.
hi, Coin-shaped batteries on most motherboards should be CR2032. Make sure it is properly installed and + is up. IF you have a multimeter or you have a friend who has a multimeter, remove the battery and check the voltage. It should read 3.0 volts when fully charged. If it reads 1.8 volts or higher is probably OK. Be very careful installing and removing coin-shaped batteries. Most of the battery holders i have seen for these batteries are quite fragile and easily broken. I ease these batteries into the holder with the aid of "tweaker" (small screw driver).

Computers have an internal battery on the motherboard that helpd the board retain certain data when the computer is off. If the battery is low or dead it will cause this problem. The easiest way to replace the battery is to open the side of the computer when it is off and remove the battery from the battery holder on the motherboard. The battery looks just like a watch battery. Replace it with the same kind of battery (available at most drug stores) once you have replaced it turn on your computer and reset your clock.
