Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.
Solution 1: Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.
Solution 2: Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.
Solution 3: Press the ink pads down in the purge unit. Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

AP position error will trigger a 6A00 error code. An error occurred in the AP motor during purging operation. You will need to replace the Sheet feed unit (QM2-2916), Logic board ***'y (QM2-3078), Purge unit (QM2-2925).
Move you ink heads out of the way and look inside, you will see the waste ink sponges and a little white plastic flap that may be jammed in position, wiggle it a little to free it and then continue to move it to make sure its free. This should solve it for you.
6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Manually move the print head left and right, and turn the printer on/off. I would also inspect the rollers for ANY debris... it can often be fixed by using "canned air" and blowing the interior out completely.
Effective Solutions to Troubleshoot Canon Printer Error Code 6A00:
Cartridge faults are not always easy to deal with.
Solution 1: Check Print Head Carriage
Make sure whether the printhead carriage is moving back and forth properly or not.
Solution 2: Check the Purge Unit
If you have just moved the printhead assembly, the purge unit error will still be there.
6A00 is not a jam error, it is an error of the purge assembly not cycling properly. Many times a paper scrap jammed in the capping assembly or the squeegee assembly caught on the filter assembly. Usually worn out gears and dried ink so that replacement of the purge assembly is the best fix.
6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Canon says you need to send it to them to fix.
Before you do, turn the printer off and try moving the carriage back and forth a few times. At the same time, look for any debris in the area that could be jamming the sheet feed unit.
Turn the printer back on and see if the error goes away. Several other people with this problem report solving it this way.
6A00 means you need a new purge assembly. That's the unit that cleans the printhead. Part number is QM2-3032-000 around $30.00 but a shop should install it.
Error Code 6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit. You cannot fix it by yourself because you do not have the tools to fix the printer. You go to a Canons Support Page and ask for a replacement if it is still under warranty or you replace the printer with a new one.
