SOURCE: laser jet 2430tn printing slow

Check the way your print Jobs Spool up in your PC. you may have a totally different set up for printing in your new computer that takes two or three extra steps(such as spooling the print job) prior to actually sending it to the printer to be printed. If you have a user manual for your new computer, check the printer set up and see if it is set up to print directly to printer or print to spooling folder then to printer. Also try a different driver if you wish, I know the 2430 can use either PCL5 or PCL6 drivers... I'd start there and see if there is a difference.... the problem isn't your printer obviously its the way your computer is communicating to it. Best of luck to you.

SOURCE: Lexmark T642 Slow Slow Printing

I've had this problem with the Lexmarks's T640 printers connected via USB to Mac OS 10.5.5 machines.

Problem: The Mac OS' default resolution of 1200 DPI for this printer causes the printer to have to rasterize the print job again AFTER it arrives at the printer. The printer does a painfully slow job of this.

Solution: Change the default resolution of your print jobs to "600dpi".

Instructions:

1.)Call up the printer settings menu by starting a print job and clicking the up-arrow next to "Printer" box.

2.)Click on the drop-down list with the name of your application and choose "Printer Features".
Change your resolution to "600dpi". Oddly, I find that "1200dpi Image Quality" is almost as fast.

3.)It might be a good idea to "Save as" this new configuration in the "Presets" menu at the top of your list.

You should notice a tenfold increase in the time it takes the printer to actually produce print jobs now.

Additionally, in the "Color Matching" settings (you can get there by changing from the "Printer Features" settings), be sure that you are using "ColorSync" so your printer isn't having to do any additional processing in that area.

SOURCE: Lexmark 2600 not printing

I recently had the same problem. Your Lexmark printer has automatically placed itself on pause. You must go to the control panel and unpause it from there. Its' simple, just go to control panel and select printer and faxes. Select your Lexmark printer and right click it. Then select resume from the drop down menu. Your printer is now unpaused and ready to print!

Lexmark E250dn Printer running slow almost half speed?

Check the paper type you have set to print to. I the print thinks it is printing labels or envelopes it will run slower to ensure that it can bond the toner to the page. Also check how complex a print job you are sending. These units do not come stock with that much memory and a complex job (like a detailed photo) will slow them down.

Try with another cartridge first.

Printer may have gears with broken teeth.

I have a Lexmark x125 printer and it prints at about one page per minute. Why is it printing at such a slow speed?

Lexmark printers depending on the print job are like that by design, Also if your using a USB port below 2.0 that can be the cause.

Most Lexmarks print slower then other major brands, there is basically nothing much you can do about it unless you lower the quality on the printing.

Other issues like out of date printer drivers can cause slow processing so keep that in mind, make sure you have update drivers.

Generally though Lexmark is the slowest printer..

It keeps saying memory low, what should i do

If you already sent a job to print, wait until is finished. These printers have internal memory, like the pc RAM, and if is not big enough you get this message. You can upgrade this memory to a higher capacity. If you haven't sent anything to print, check the printing queue, sometimes it has paused/stopped printing jobs that use up the internal memory.

Recently my epson 9600 pauses during a printing job for long periods, so that it can take several hours to complete one print.

Need more info.

Are you printing from a computer directly attached to the 9600 ?
or
Are you printing through a network.

If you are using a networked printer then your print job could be slowed a good bit by heavy network traffic.

Print pending

If you restart your computer it should come back up with a message about a pending print job - you can purge it that way.

Before you did this have you ensured that your printing is not paused?
