External DC/DC Converter

Hi,
I got this Alpine CDA-9855 unit from ebay. But, the external DC/DC converter (the little box connected to green/blue pigtail) is missing. I do have the connector though.

Does anybody have a thrown away unit where i can get the DC/DC ?
Any place where I can get this part ?

Alpine no longer provide it since this model is now discontinued!

Go to www.pacparts.com

If anybody has that, they will. They have everything for that radio down to the little screws that hold the stuff inside together. If they don't show it as being in stock on their site, then you should call them and they can usually tell you when they expect to get it back in stock.

Alpine CDA-9885 has no sound to rear speakers when playing a CD. Works OK when in tuner mode?? What up??

Are you running your rear speaker through an amplifier? If so, you are probably using the blue wire (power antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amp remote turn on). The blue wire turns off when leaving tuner mode, thus turning off the amplifier.

it sounds like you have the blue wire (antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on) turning on an external amplifier in your rover. the antenna remote wire turns off when you leave tuner mode.

Blown Speaker Channels

Chips fail, even for the best of us! If the preamp outputs are still fine, you can purchase a small 4 channel from Alpine for 100-150. About the same as a repair yet cleaner power. Check EBAY there's always good deals to be had!
Hope this helps

No sound from my 9855 alpine

There is an option in the unit itself to turn off the internal amplifier. If you push the 'menu' button, then go to the setup/settings menu, and then i believe it was under the 'general settings' tab. there's a option called INT IC or something. Make sure that is turned on.

It's a bit too late but now only I'm seeing this!

It's in blackout mode!
Press and hold the FUNC key for at least 2-3 secs to activate and deactivate!

BTW, do any of u have a broken unit or a DC/DC converter for this! The small box connected to the end of the green/blue cable.

Cut out Alpine 9855

When you say you connected the blue and white wire to the amp power do you mean the remote turn on of the amp and not the terminal/wire marked battery or power? You should not be trying to power your amp with the blue and white wire. This wire is only for sending a signal(+12V) to the amp to turn itself on. the amp should have it own fused wire of appropriate gauge running directly to the batttery. Some more details on the installation would be helpful.
