How do I replace soap dispenser pump mechanism?

I have purchased a new pump and tube from Price Pfister for this soap dispenser, but can't figure out how to get the old one off so I can replace with new one.

Our brand new Avalon model had this problem. It sure appears to be a design defect or defective part. After contacting customer support, they sent a replacement pump (the internal part, not the whole unit).

After removing the unit from your sink, holding the top pull firmly with constant pressure on the pump assembly. It will pop off, but you have to pull pretty hard.

I suggest running water through the top of your unit before putting the new pump assembly on it. Ours had black 'junk' inside even though it was brand new. The new unit just slides on in the reverse process of removing the old one.

Unscrew the soap bottle from under sink . You will need a basin wrench ,or long arms to unscrew the nut under sink which holds it down .

Soap pump won't work...fill it, pump a thousand times, no soap

Common problem with PF faucets. Have read elsewhere that soaking the pump mechanism in water or other solution may fix. PF offers new pump mechanism for less than $8 but shipping is equal to that. That is a non-starter for me.

Stopped by Lowes this afternoon and when I told them the part I was looking for, they handed me the 931-0020 pump replacement saying that PF rep had dropped off a ton of them because they were having problems with the dispensers across thier line. And, get this, they gave it to me gratis!

I'll see how easy it is to pop out and replace tonight (instructions elsewhere on this site)

The threaded shank for the soap dispenser broke on our Price Phister model KSD-M1YY soap dispenser. Can't find a replacement. The model # of the faucet isT26-4DYY. Can you help?

Most parts can be ordered though Price Pfister Directly 1-800-PFaucet. Here is a link to the parts diagram for your faucet. http://www.pricepfister.com/www/ImageAssets/mirror/model/kitchen/treviso/tret26-4d/ex-026-02.pdf  If by threaded shank you are talking about the bottle, then you can order just a new bottle (Part # 950-004) if not you may need to order a whole new soap dispenser (Part # 920-054.) If you order a whole new soap dispenser than make sure you order the correct finish to match your faucet.

Soap dispenser replacement

Best thing to do is contact Price Pfister directly. If there is a problem with the dispenser or there is a faulty part, they are usually pretty good about replacing their stuff at little or no cost to you, their customer.

Price pfister kitchen soap dispenser stopped pumping soap. It was installed less than 2 years ago. is this a manufacturers defect?

Contact the manufacturer and inquire with the model number whether or not this is indeed a manufacturers defect. A defect usually indicates an immediate problem with the product. This sounds like it is most likely normal wear and tear. Most manufacturers will send replacement parts free of charge as there is often a lifetime warranty on the fixtures. You may need to purchase a replacement pump if it is not covered under warranty.

Soap dispenser doesn't pick up soap

Make sure the clear tube is inserted into the pump head properly.Make sure the tube is not kinked. try filling the bottle full of water and try pumping the water out first. Sometimes the dispenser gets an air lock and takes a bit of continuous pumping to get it to work

Soap dispenser doesn't pump soap

Price Pfister has a 800 number that you can call if you are having problems. If they can not fix it, they offer a life time warranty on most products that they make. They will usually send out a replacement for it if they can not solve your problem.

It seems that the plastic pump mechanism is not

Unfortunately it is a very common problem with soap dispensers. First before you replace the dispenser, dillute a small amount of water mix with the soap in the bottle of the dispenser to see in fact if the pump is deffective. It could simply be that the soap is too thick for the pump to work properly. As to replace it, call the manufacture of the faucet which I presume came with the dispenser and very often they will stand by their products and send you one free of charge.
