Note - epson Stylus cx 3100 is similar to cx 3200.

I used to use an LX300 and have never had this problem. I'm not sure what unclear means so I will just do some guessing. Clarity of the print depends on 3 things, software, printhead and ribbon. These are your problem areas. Epson has an option to print NLQ or near letter quality. So that should give more clarify. I basically double prints the same letter to create a darker image. The printhead, if your printer is really old, you need to either find someone to refurbish the printhead or buy a new printhead because it could be the impact pins are bent and not giving the strongest image. Lastly the ribbon, obvsiously the more used the ribbon is the weaker the image. So either re-ink the ribbon or buy a new ribbon cartridge. Hope this helps.

I am also using EPSON R-230 but I get excellent print quality on the CD & DVD's, It appears that you are not using the correct CD/DVD media for printing, You cant print on any CD/DVD it has to be a specific grade and normally its mentioned on the packing "PRINTABLE". On this type of CD/DVD you will never face this problem of wet ink & bad results. Infact the ink gets dry as soon as it gets printed. I hope this solves your problem

PDFs are designed to print using Postscript language.
The problem will occur with any non-Postscript printer. You can get better results on Windows printers by clicking on the "Advanced' button in the Print dialogue window. Then check 'Print as Image'.

This has worked well for me.

fist of all reunisall your printer driver ....
if problem dose not fix .
it means black colour laser section have problem so you can clean lens of laser if posible and replace laser secaner.
