you can't.
when the item name as modem/router. it means the main function is modem with added router function.
you can't connect 2 router/modem together. both need access to the internet and IPS for it function correctly.
however, you can connect 1 modem and one router.

? You don't need a driver for the modem unless you have it hooked up via usb. If you are using USB go get a PCI nic card and install it. That's an easy way around needing a driver

If the internet light is not on then it means

1. You are not connected to the internet, faulty connection etc
2. You have no proper drivers for your modem or your current drivers are corrupted
3. The computer has turned of your modem for reason like conflicts or ill-operation of your modem

I guess you also want to know how to resolve the issue (Cause you only asked why it is not flickering anymore)

1. Connect the cable or wireless connection for your ASDL securely
2. Update the driver for your modem and als diagnise the modem
3. same as 2, goto device manager to update the driver and on properties to diagnise the hardware

401 Authorization Required is the message you get after the default allowed password attempts have failed. When trying to access the Speedstream, you didn't type in the correct password which results in that failure message.

* Open up internet explorer, type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and press enter key.
* Now you should see the configuration page of modem.
* On the left side, click on Advanced button, below that, you will see "connection configuration" option - click on it.

*** If it asks for modem access code anywhere, you can find the code underneath the modem. please type it ***

* Under this page, you have to enter the email address in username field and password, change the connection type to smart keep alive, click on save changes

* Now it may ask you for restart modem. click on restart. within 1 min, you will be connected to internet.
