My PS3 used to play GTA 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4... Until now, I used to play Metal Gear and GTA all the time but now it seems that my PS3 can't play it anymore.
Ok, so i have 7 games namely fight night round 3, NBA 2k8, Uncharted, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry 4, GTA 4 and then Metal Gear solid 4. My ps3 is able to play fight night and nba 2k8 and uncharted and devil may cry and ninja gaiden but it is not able to play GTA 4 and Metal gear.
The thing is the first part of these two games are shown on the screen like when it notifies you about the HDD stuff and then the screen just turns black and the music from the game goes on. As for GTA 4 after the rockstar logo is shown and the GRAND THEFT AUTO 4 is shown the screen turns black and the music still goes on.. SO any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
This is what used to happen to me on my ps3 slim 160 GB when I put the disc in the screen goes black and int he top left corner I have a flashing disc, i updated the system to FW 4.00 and now the game works fine, i was previously running FW 3.73.

could be a number of things... try other games and se if they work, if those do then it is just that game. If no other cheat codes work it is most likely your NES system sorry

Yeah me too, i thought my MG disc was scratched but its not, it wont get past that HDD without blackness
so guys... any help?
I have a similar problem with MGS4, mainly when I put the disc in the screen goes black and int he top left corner I have a flashing disc and question mark symbol.....?
