SOURCE: temp -35 degrees, freezer runs all the time

I assume there is no manual control for setting temp. so the thermal sensor or control circuit has failed and it is just staying at its maximum.  You will probably get more help from the manufacturer but their website is somewhat disjointed; looking for contact info for your product ends at one point and then shifts to their scientific product line.
The only general contact info I found is here:
Nor-Lake
You will in any case need to have the correct model number at hand since the subject line doesn't sound like your freezer.

SOURCE: Master-Bilt Freezer doesnt cool enough

The only thing I could suggest is looking at the evaporator (inside coil / cold bit) and making sure it is not frozen over reducing the airflow through the coil. If it is then put it onto a couple of defrost cycles to clear the ice build up. Not sure exactly of this type but would assume you also have a sight glass on the external unit, you can check this to see if when running the sight glass is clear (fully charged). Another check is looking at the compressor and the larger of the two lines (suction) should be cold back to the compressor (this line is normally insulated). However I would suggest your best course of action is a good refrig. techy. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: kenmore chest freezer

If your chest freezer is less than 50 years old, it does not have a fan. Cooling coils contact inner walls of freezer compartment, warm coils dissipate heat through outside walls of freezer. If compressor runs, temp is 30+ degrees, gasket is OK, lid not left open, then you have one of two contions: 1. Low capacity compressor 2. Refrigerant leak. Solution to either is to replace freezer. (My opinion: Don't get a Kenmore brand, which generally ties you into poor warranty and slow and poor service.) No matter what brand name is on the freezer, it is most likely manufactured by Electrolux (in St. Cloud, MN) or Haier (from China). Look at the model / serial number plate before purchase to see where it was manufactured. Yes, the USA manufactured ones are better. (and I'm not just saying that because the plant is less than 15 miles from where I am sitting right now)

The freezer won't run so how us it that the compressor is very hot after several hours?

ice cream is always the last to freeze and a temp of minus -10 degrees is usually required to get it to get hard. if you put the ice cream in the door it will be especially tough to freeze. a good thermometor is a good investment as you can observe the temps. usually ten degrees or 20 degrees is what they run. yes they do cycle on and off as long as they hold temps thats good. the outside of the freezer gets warm because the hot compressed refrigerant is spread through piping near its surface giving up its heat of compression . setting the stat to max will freeze the ice cream eventually but utility bill suffers . good luck

Freezer has quit freezing only a little over a year old. manufactor date 6/2009 compressor is running will only cool down to 50 degrees thermostat set on coldest.

Is the compressor continually running? If so then there could be a leak in the system or the compressor is damaged. If it's running then stopping, the cold control (thermostat) could be damaged.

Used Kenmore freezer won't get cold enough

If it is running but not cooling enough the problem is in the sealed system.

If you started it up just after hauling it home it may have be moved around enough to get oil in the systems smaller tubing causing problems. Unplug the unit for 24 hours and let it sit. Try it again for 24 hours and see if it cools.

If not this means either there is a refrigerant (freon) leak in the system or a restriction causing the refrigerant to not flow properly.

Either one are an expensive repair. and will require a professional to look at.

Top mounted freezer on refrigerator not working

Move the refrigerator to a room that is at least 50 degrees F.

Temps on most refrigerators are regulated by the fresh foods temp. If your garage is let's say 35 degrees, the fresh foods temp will most likely never raise enough to turn the refrigerator on. With the refrigerator never running, the freezer compartment will warm to 35 degrees, resulting in everything melting. Even if garage is a bit warmer, say 45, the refrig will not run long enough for the freezer to maintain a low enough temperture. If the garage temp falls to below freezing, say 20 degrees, the food in the fresh foods compartment will freeze. (outdoor beverage dispensers have internal heaters to prevent product from freezing !) Please don't rate this if not a Fix-Ya for you, as anything else lowers my score.

Kenmore Chest Freezer

Believe it or not, but it is normal. Especially when just turned on. As the internal temp. gets colder so will the temp. on the side get cooler.

Kenmore 23.1 cf Chest Freezer not cooling below 14F

Make sure everything is working, I.E. compressor, fans. Now I need to know if the freezer shuts off at 14 degrees, or does it continue to run without making temp. If it shuts off, then the first place to look is the thermostat. It may be out of calibration. If it continues to run, then the solution may be as simple as cleaning the condenser coil. or the defrost has malfunctioned somehow. Defrost probleams will cause excess ice on the inside coil. You may need to remove the panels to see how much ice is on it. It sounds like the compressor is good, as it is pretty cold. Just not cold enough. A deep freeze should be at least 0.

Kenmore 14.8 cft - temperature between 5 and -22 degrees (-15 and -30 C)

Big...this is likely normal. I'm not sure where you're measuring that temp from. If it is the fan outlet, this is possible. The fact that the unit is staying below 5 degrees means that it is within spec. You do have a warranty. Ask Sears to come on in and check it out.

Your 'duty cycle'...that amount of time that the compressor is on should be about 20% of a unit of time...say 25 minutes out of 2 hours. Is that about right? If so, enjoy your ice cream.
