For this particular camera it really is not too difficult. Of course, used ones are available for under $50 or you can get a really good upgrade for under $100 (all US $)
LCD repair is expensive. Best bet is to do it yourself. Buy a used camera through ebay.com (one sold for parts, but with good LCD).Then change the LCD. A good set of instructions are given in the following sites:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/11/fixing-or-replacing-broken-lcd-screen.html You need to buy a screwdriver set for $1 from Dollar store. That is all you need.
Unfortunately repairing a damaged LCD screen is not possible. Your best option is to purchase a new LCD screen for that model and see about having it installed or installing it yourself.
You may be able to fix it yourself if you can find a replacement screen. I usually search ebay for a broken camera with other problems that I can cannibalize. Here's some examples on LCD replacement. Don't recommend that you try this yourself, unless you have at least some experience with electronics.
Otherwise, the cost of professional repair may be close to or beyond the value of the camera. A better option is to sell the camera on ebay for other repair hobbyists to attempt replacing the screen for themselves. You actually may get a good price for the camera IF it's still capable of taking pictures.

well I dont know if this still will be use full for you but future internet answer seekers here you go. I had same problem and I was able to fix the camera. I used this site as help nothing special but atleast gives idea what am I working with. and I found parts on ebay. good luck everyone!
Two things can cause lines across the LCD either horizontal or vertically. The first (and most likely) is a small crack in the display wafer. LCD stands for Liquid Cristal Display. They are very fragile and can be easily damaged if dropped. I broke one in my pants pocket.
The second would be if a pin on the ribbon cable (to the LDC wafer) was not making good contact. If you disassemble the camera it is possible to clean the contacts using contact cleaner (or alcohol).Only attempt this is you are willing to replace the camera if you don’t put it back together properly.
hello,
LCD replacement is compulsary, for that i suggest only kodak shop, because LCD costs same anywhere in the world, onle service charge differs and that is i think not so much.
so go to kodak only..
