If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

SOURCE: cant get my wireless mouse to work on my emachine

go to the mouse's site (brand) and it should have drivers for the mouse... install the drivers and your mouse will work fine.

Try (on the bottom of the laptop) removing the door to the RAM, and pulling one stick out at a time, than starting it, and than the other stick, and starting it. If you still have a black screen, than the motherboard has gone.

Touchpad stopped working arrow still works

sounds like you need to adjust the sensitivity, as you can customize this to prevent accidental double taps.

you should have some software to configure your touchpad, this will either be from the manufacturer or you can use the "mouse settings" in control panel.
