My acer Aspire 5253-BZ692 has a green haze over the whole screen. The screen is green where it should be black.

its usually the connecting cable either into the monitor or into the computer try juggling them (bend them up ward a teeny bit ) if color doesnt restore, borrow a new cable BUT examine the pins on the monitor and the computer CLOSELY to SEE NONE ARE BENT

Why does my acer aspire 5253-BZ692 have a green haze?

MM this postmight appear twice -I thought I posted it

I have experienced this- try bending the plug gently where the monitor plug goes into computer and also at the monitor end

If nothing changes try a lead form another computer-monitor Also when you take the plugs off examine closely (with a magnifying glass) all male pins to see none are bent

There seems to be a green haze throughout my screen. I have adjusted it and readjusted over and over with no success...can u help me? What is the problem????

I'll do my best!
Well there's a little test i need you to do, when you have that green haze on the screen selesct the menu guide and if it also shows the green haze you will need to replace the video board, and if you have na LCD tv, you will need to replace the optical block .

Green Haze in middle of TV, Words not sharp

The coolant in the chambers that are part of the CRTs(picture tubes) has been contaminated by foreign matter and the high temps created by the CRTs. The coolant can be replaced but its an expensive and time consuming operation. Some of the parts needed for this repair may also be no longer available. I'd start shopping.

Problems with my Phillips Rear Projection TV!!

Green dot in middile of my screen

The green dot in the center sounds like a burn mark on one or more of the picture tubes inside the set, and the curved lines are telling me that you have a problem in the convergence circuits. The blue haze around everything white tells me you either have a lot of dust build up on the lens over the CRTs, or your picture tube(s) are very weak. If this set is over about 12 years old, I would replace it. I doubt if you will be able to get the green dot out of the picture without changing the tubes which would be VERY expensive.

Green haze

no photos of screen posted, makes this hard to guess.
carbon dated at 2002 , its 15 years old and the CCFL is not burned out, now that is amazing ! but I bet the CCFL is dim and yellow.
so when that happens all colors are no yellow added.

ok you proved the display is bad. or set wrong (NICE JOB)
did you push the screens menu key and see all those settings inside.?
on the last screen of most hp, OSD screens is a reset.
did you try that, reset to factory setting. do you have the users guide.

or buy a new screen at walmart for $50? (a fraction of cost to fix yours, for sure)

that monitor is old a COMPAQ in fact
1024 x 768 (limited here, and very very poor that)

HP has minimal support , mostly none on this old mon.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00343350#AbT0

the screen is worth $20 working or $5 not.
so why not buy $60 new one.
and the age of high resolution ! then get rid of XP, its a virus magnet.

id do this, id go here and get a far better monitor with LED back lamps that do not go dim or turn yellow.
even free shipping now.
