install a switch with one end going to ground and the other to the pink barking brake wire off the deck switch it to on"ground" for 3 seconds then off"no ground" for three seconds do this 3 times and then leaving it in the ground position and it will work but the car must be in park when you do this
It must start out in the off position and then when you want to watch the video put it on. There should not be any more to it than that. You may have an intermittant connection on the parking brake wire that makes you think there is some type of sequence because the first time you set the parking brake it did not work. I would check and make sure the parking brake is always engaging the wire to ground when the parking brake is pressed.
for the uv8 to bypass the parking brake to watch dvds you have to take the pink wire and put one end to one of the screws on a two screw toggle switch connect the other end of the pink wire to the other screw and connect that to the black ground wire
There is a pink wire that goes to the parking brake. It connects to the ground wire on the parking brake that makes the brake light come on the instrument panel.
connect the pink wire on your stereo to a frame ground.
