Samsung Media Studio 5 software won't convert video files for player

It was working fine. But for some reason, now the software will only convert video files for the other models of this MP3 player and not the one that it came with (samsung YP-T9J) I have installed and uninstalled the software, rebooted this computer (new last November Hp computer lVista), done a system restore. Is this a driver problem? I don't see access to drivers for this player on the Samsung website, not sure if there are any? I receive notices for software updates but when I select to receive the update I get an error message for retreiving the update. Could a necessary file or Codec been deleted when I uninstalled some other software from my computer. I recently installed and uninstalled "limewire" when I realized it was a "file sharing" software. If you need more information please let me know.

I think I have a similar problem. A couple of days ago I was totally capable to transfer videos to my mp3 player (yp-s3) but suddenly it stopped working. I have been trying to download the updates of Samsung Media Studio too but it reports the same: they're not available at that moment.
Today I tried to talk to the Samsung staff but they don't seem to know what the problem is... I don't know if the cause of the problem is the mp3 player or the software.
I'm sorry it can't help you, but it's so exasperating...

This is indeed exasperating! My error message reads "error in update files Please try again later" I've tried everything that I know of. It will only convert files for the Yp-t8 and a few others listed, but of course they won't work on the YP-T9J. Maybe we will get lucky and someone else will see this and know how to help us out. I wonder if it could be a conflict in a Vista update we received? Guess I'm just not savvy enough to figure this out.

    Emily-

This is what I did-Good luck if you should try it. I went to the Samsung website and downloaded the latest version of the Media Studio 5. I uninstalled the old version and installed the newer version. When I opened the new version for the first time a "notice" window came up to take advantage of "EmoDio" a new Samsung software. I downloaded it to my desktop and installed it. It asks during the installation to uninstall the Media Studio 5 --I let it go ahead and do that. When I opened EmoDio for the first time after the install, it offered an update option. I took advantage of that also and it installed the updates. The software is very much like the Media Studio 5 so it is easy to navigate because I am already use to it. When I tried my first Video conversion & download, it asked about installing the necessary Codec software to convert the files. So I said yes to that install and it has been converting my video files ever since. Everything seems to be back to normal -just a newer fresher looking software..

So glad it worked for us! We'll never know why the other software just stopped working. Even so, it has been a learning experience. I have learned about various video files and converting them-but still wondering what makes samsung video files seem so exclusive to their players. Oh well- glad this troublesome matter appears to be behind me. ;0)

Wow! I have just followed every step you said and that's it!! I can transfer videos now!! I still can't believe it. I don't know what would we have done if Emodio didn't exist!
Thank you very much for your help! Really, it was my salvation! :D

Well Z Dude, the one who discovered about Emodio was typpybites, all I did was easily follow every step and it was done :)

I'm glad you could solve the problem too!

I can't understand why Samsung keeps including its troublesome program with new mp4 players... Emodio is 100% better!

Hat's off to emily!

I did not realize there was a glitch with the bundled program and thought it was my own system. I spent three days uninstalling and reinstalling the program as well as adding convertvers and video producing programs (so many Hollywood would be jealous!). I finally found her post and tried to go to the Samsung site (but it was entirely too slow and I was out of patience) so I went to Emodio.com and downloaded directly (Make sure you uninstall the Media Manager 5 first). As soon as I opened emodio, it prompted me to update as I did. Nothing but good things happened after that and it is all virtually painless and as simple as anything could be. No negatives whatsoever!

As I read this, I noticed a pattern of all of our media studio's not converting files and all around the same ... I had a hunch... and rolled my calendar back to 2005 ...and just as I thought... transfer started working just as before.. appears it has to do with a date, possibly samsung imbeded this in th eprogram...so that we would HAVE to update in the future? kind of shady if you ask me...

I try to put videos on it but it dont show up when i turn it on

Hi. In order to put videos on the Samsung T9 player, you need to use the included software (Samsung Media Studio 5) to convert the video to the .svi format that the player recognizes. You didn't say if you'd used that software or not, so I can't be more specific about a solution until you let me know exactly what you've tried so far. If you don't have the software, it or it's follow-on should be available on the Samsung support website. Just use that to convert it and then put it into the Video folder in your player (drag and drop). I've loaded videos as large as 50 minutes on mine and it worked just fine. Good luck!

Can't convert mp4 files to my supposed media player...

As for the episodes you bought on iTunes, I'm not sure how to go about converting those, but your player uses the .mp4 format (according to Samsung) my guess is that iTunes has enabled DRM on those files that is making it impossible to load on another player. (here is a link to some software that supposedly removes DRM http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/)
As far as ripping DVDs to your mobile device the best application I have found is: Xilisoft DVD to iPod Converter don't let the name fool you. I use this to rip dvds so I can load them onto my Playstation 3. It is simply a DVD -> .MP4 converter.

How to put videos on a samsung t10

Hey man! I cannot directly answer your question yet because I haven't done much with video for the T10 yet. Like you, I tried a couple with WMP and one worked while the other didn't. I did find what looks like a very good conversion program that might fix your problems. It's at:

http://www.download.com/WM-Converter/3000-2194_4-10700602.html

I'm going to check it out and will advise if it works for me. If you do it before I do, please let me know, too. Between the two of us, we should be able to figure it out.
