Paper jam I have a torn piece of paper deep down in my Epson 950 - the printer had just started tearing the top corner of every sheet and then an inch of paper from one sheet ended up stuck. Can't find any instructions from them on how to get into the depths of the machine and pull it out. Please help!

1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Check to see if the print carriage moves freely from one side of the printer to the other. ...
3. Remove the print cartridges. ...
4. Gently move the print cartridge to the far right of the printer.
5. Remove the paper from the paper In tray, but do not remove the drawer.
6. Step one: Clear the paper jam from the output tray
   
   1. Carefully remove any loose paper from the output tray.
   2. Check the rollers in the output tray for jammed paper.
   3. Use a flashlight to see the rollers in the printer.

   4. Gently remove any jammed paper or bits of torn paper from the output tray rollers. Use both hands to pull out any whole sheets of paper to avoid tearing them.
   5. Remove any bits of paper or torn pieces of paper from the output tray rollers.
   Step two: Clear the jam from the input tray
   
   1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
   2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
   3. Remove all paper from the output tray.
   4. Raise the output tray.

   5. Grasp any jammed paper in the input tray with both hands, and then pull the paper slowly but firmly toward you to remove it.
      

      CAUTION: Remove paper from the tray as carefully as possible. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the printer, more paper jams are likely to occur, and this could damage the print mechanism.

   6. Lower the output tray.
   7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
   8. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.

Try to carefully remove the sheets of paper one at a time and avoid tearing it, any torn pieces of paper in the printer can cause future paper jams if left inside. You can also access the paper jam by opening the cartridge area.

The Paper Jams

Press the paper button to eject the jammed paper. If the error does not clear, turn the printer off, open the printer cover and the CD/DVD guide. Remove all of the paper inside, including any torn pieces, then close the CD/DVD guide. Reload the paper, then press the paper button to resume printing.
Note: If you cannot remove a foreign object easily by yourself, do not use force and do not disassemble the printer. Call Epson for assistance.
If your paper jams frequently, check the following:

• The paper is smooth, not curled or wrinkled.

• The paper is of high quality.

• The printable side of the paper is face up in the sheet feeder.

• The paper stack was fanned before loading.

• The paper is not loaded above the triangular load-limit mark on the left edge guide.

• The paper stack fits under the tabs inside the edge guides.

• The number of sheets in the paper stack does not exceed the limit specified for that media.

If the paper feeder stuck, do the following:

1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.
2. If paper is stuck inside, open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper, including any torn pieces. Then close the printer cover.
3. If paper remains near the sheet feeder, press the paper feed roller lever inside the paper feeder to release the jammed paper, then carefully pull it out.
4. Load the paper correctly.
5. Press the stop button to resume printing.
   

If the printer continues to jam or misfeed paper, and you are certain that there are no foreign objects lodged down inside the paper feed area, your printer may require service. Please call Epson technical support for further assistance.

Follow this step to clear the jam

press the diamond shape button start button to eject the jammed paper. If the jammed paper is not ejected, go to the next step.
if the paper is stuck near the sheet feeder or output tray, gently pull it out.
If the paper is stuck inside Epson Stylus CX7800, press the power on button to turn it off. Open the scanner and remove any pepr inside including any torn pieces. Do not pu;; it backward beacuse this can damage the sheet feeder. Close the scanner, then turn the epson stylus CX78oo back on.

If paper is jammed, a Paper jam message will appear on the control panel display.

Follow these steps to clear the jam:

1. Gently pull any jammed paper out of the output tray or sheet feeder.
   
   
2. If the paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus CX.
   
   
3. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus CX back on.
   
   Note: Be sure to check the far left of the carriage area when checking for jammed paper. Paper that is jammed there may be hidden from view.

If paper jams inside the Automatic Document Feeder, clear the jam as follows:

1. Open the Automatic Document Feeder cover and remove any jammed paper.
   
   
   
   
2. If necessary, lift the document cover and remove any paper that has jammed inside.

If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the tray, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it. if Paper Jams Inside the Artisan 700 Series: Open the scanner. Remove the paper as shown, including any torn pieces. Squeeze the hooks and remove the cover inside the Artisan 700 Series. Remove the paper as shown, including any torn pieces Reattach the cover. Close the scanner. if after doing all of these still same issue persists, if the issue persists, call epson to get a replacement printer if the product is still 1 yr. from the date of purchase, if it is more than a year, most probably, thats out of warranty,

Open the printer cover and look closely for tiny paper shreds that might got stuck between the rollers. If you have a canned air, try blowing out the paper path as those tiny piece of paper might be blocking the paper sensor.
