All gear like this have 2 PW
(the config web page, and then WIFI settings)
the gear IP login page us UN; PW> that?
and wifi ,SSID ,WPA2, and PW.
not told what fails, start a topic showing evidence of failure
or just say wifi, if is wifi pw.
or RTM the manual on all routers cover all this and are free
and google finds them all if you try.
but hark no router told only the MODEM.
no kidding google it.
Motorola SURFboard SBG900 DOCSIS 2.0 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway (Black) is just a modem and is not router or wifi
and yes there are 2 password here,
1 yours as read only , user
and #2, the ISP has admin login only never YOU.
so why not RTM

page 28 (user side)
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/106714/Motorola-Sbg900.html?page=28&term=192&selected=1#manual

google first hit on topic, 1 modem.

SOURCE: sbg900 setup and login page

I had this problem just last night. I held down the reset button for 20-30 seconds. It worked when after pressing teh button the LEDs stayed on and then after the 20-30 seconds they started to blink indicating the reset. If they do not start reset while holding down the reset, let go and the modem should reset itself. It took me a few times to get this right since teh reset button is rather sensitive and a momentary depression/release will resutl ina reset of the modem but not to default password. I found out I was inadvertantly doing this momentary reset due to teh sensitivity of the switch.

Anyway, next make sure you type "admin" and "motorola" in all lower case. I was using Admin and Motorola - no good.

SOURCE: I cant reset my Motorola SBG900!

Ok in the back of this unit or bottom there is a reset button or hole that you need a pin needle to access. Press it in for 15sec and let it reboot. Once it reboots, open a web page and type in 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1 This will bring up a log in page. The login is admin and the password is motorola.

SOURCE: Motorola SBG900 WEP password problem - MAC OS X

  1. Try the ethernet cable, but also configure it manually by setting the gateway as 192.168.0.1 and the IP to 192.168.0.2
  2. Then enter normally and reconfigure it.
Optionally, try holding the reset button for 20s and access through wireless if you want.

SOURCE: Motorola SBG900 settings set back to default settings

This exact problem just happened to me today. I called Motorola & they said this sometimes happens as a result of a power surge (can be on the cable or power lines). All settings were lost & I had to redo the entire set-up from scratch.

And no need to get your breathing rates high in case you have changed the username/ password of Motorola SBG900 and forgot them, as you can just reset the Motorola SBG900 router by press-and-hold the reset button with a straightened paperclip for about 15 seconds.

By holding down the button in the back, you may have reset it to factory defaults for the password and username. Try using Admin for the user name and motorola for the password.

This pdf is the manual for your modem:

Page 7 on the document contains a picture of your modem's back side. You'll notice a recessed button that will RESET the modem back to the default values, which include username and password. Press this for at least 5 seconds.

My new mac mini wants a password to connect to my wireless network (Motorola SBG900)

Hi,

The SSID (network name) and password should be on the wireless router itself, usually underneath the unit.

If its not there, the password will be with documentation you got with the wireless router.

Regards.
