363.62709200 Power Failure

The microwave seems to be working properly for 10-15 seconds and then has a power failure. The timer display blanks out and then comes back on in a few seconds. I can then start the microwave again, but it will only run for another 10-15 seconds or so before quitting again. When I run the microwave with the surface light on, the light remains on the entire time, so I know the house hold circuit is not shorting out.

Hi,
F-9 error code indicates a defective control board, inverter or line voltage too high. f the microwave runs for about 7 seconds with a ticking sound..then stops and shows "F-9", it is the magnetron that has failed. The fact that the unit starts and runs with the TICKING SOUND means the control board is sending signal to inverter board and the inverter board is sending signal to magnetron. Magnetron is covered by full 5 year warranty, inverter board is only 3 years.

Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it.

Door switch If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work.

SOURCE: Kenmore built in microwave displaying "D" and wont heat.

"d" may mean demo mode. The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power outlet for 10 minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

My microwave was set at 20 minutes 17 minutes it went blank

Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your post!

Let's try resetting your microwave by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is good to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your appliance. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, then it could possibly be a few things: faulty fuse, open thermostat, TCO (thermal cutout), magnetron, a bad connection with the control board or a potential wiring failure. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair your microwave.

My microwave shows PF on the screen and none of the buttons are working, not even the timer button. How to solve this problem ?

PF = Power failure. Try and push the clear or cancel button (or start, or clock etc) You may have missed one. If that doesn't work try and unplug it for 10 seconds or so and retry.
