I own the Vizio E321VL TV and I need replacement screws to assemble the stand.
I have a M420VT Vizio TV. I used (4) M6-1.0 x 16mm screws to attach the stand to the TV stand adapter. The screws I used to attach the adapter to the TV were (3) M4-0.7x12mm. It worked out perfectly!
I have the E321VL I went by what I read and researching matching with other specs given, went to Home Depot and it was on point I got #6-32x1in, #6 thread worked perfect 1" length was perfect
The majority of the VL and VO series use the same screws that screw into plastic mounts and covers.

Check the kitchen drawer next to the fridge for the screws !!
When you get new screws, use lengths 1/2".. any longer and you might hit something inside.
Don't know why this is posted under IS-LCDTV26.. I would pull a screw from my 26" and measure it, but it's most likely different than your 42"

Had same problem with Insignia TV...#12 - 24 x 1/2" machine screws...found at Home Depot in bagged items (can't use longer because some of the holes don't go all the way thru)
