Question about Garden

Repaired Husqvarna 41 chainsaw won't start.

The on/off switch on my Husqvarna 41 chainsaw stopped working (didn't kill the running engine). Tired of pulling the choke, I replaced the switch, and in the process noticed a break in the two strand wiring harness. I replaced the wiring harness, and now the saw won't start. I have found complete electrical continuity between the base of the plug and both poles (and the plug end of the plug wire) of the ignition module and both poles of the switch (whether on or off), but no continuity between the top of the plug and anything else. How does the off switch on this saw work? Is it supposed to establish or kill continuity?. Suggestions?

Check if there is continuty between the wire coming out of the coil, not the plug wire the small one, and ground, metal partof the coil. I just ordered a coil because of this. The coil seemed to have some spark even tho this condition existed. Richard

Problem: There was some spark at the plug. The plug got wet, fuel present. Would not run. Checked the coil there was continuity between the small wire coming out of the coil and the metal bolt down of the coil. Ordered a new coil.

The off switch of the chainsaw has to establish the continuity to kill the running engine.First check the switch with a measure apparat. Then check the continuity of the two wiring harness, sepparately. One wire is atached to the ignition module with a screw and goes to the off position of the switch. The other one towards the on position of the switch.Check the spring!

My Husqvarna 345 will not stop.

It sounds as if your kill switch has broken. If you need to kill it, just put the choke on until it dies. This will get you through your job til you get it it fixed.

How to start a Husqvarna 445?

Set choke to full on. To do this depress throttle all the way down and set choke lever to on. Pull starter rapidly until saw fires . Once it has fired set to start and pull starter cord until it starts. If it doesn't start in ten - twelve pulls, reset choke for two or three pulls, then switch back to start. Pull starter cord until it starts. When it starts it wii be at full R.P.Ms. Let run for twenty to thirty seconds. then move switch to run. Hope his helps, Thanks

Brand new husqvarna chainsaw won't start

A commen problem is flooding the engine.
A good way to start it is to press the fuel pump balloon three times choke it. pull once...pust the choke back in so that its stops choking and give it a few swings then it should start.
i am asuming you have put the on of switch to on.
